Without going into too many details, I thought I'd keep it to things that I've ****ed up. Taking my girlfriend for a long beach walk until the LSD wore off and realised it was a stolen mannequin I'd been dragging around a MacDonalds drive through. Once turned up at a fancy-dress party dressed as a chicken and got off with a girl dressed as an egg. Although in itself not that amazing it did answer a life long question. It was the chicken.
Short story fosse style Grew up poor council house Dad owned a restaurant, had the Chinese gene gambled it all put us into debt with banks and family and went to the slammer. Parents divorced but mum took over restaurant worked her bollocks off and raised a load of us and paid off debts. Also explains why i was child labour and a cracking delivery driver We all went uni except my eldest sibling but we are all doing okay. Close to my mum's side of the family, my dad's side are basically cants with family politics. Work in IT now which is basically like the IT crowd which is why I'm on here. Oh i like travelling and gaming and my small Chinese hands would never let me do comms job although i have worked in warehouses before.
Yeah my biological father was a gambling, pathetic **** as well. Luckily for me he had the decency to do himself in to save me doing time in jail for him.
Id love to say he was great but he wasnt. Still it was my dad and he calmed down when he got back out and managed to control it after screwing us all. We still saw him at christmas after he came out before the cancer got him. I can sort of empathise as ive done some ridiculous sums on gambling although ive kicked the habit (nothing to jeopardise anyone though) and ive seen it take down some others who i hold in really high regard. Sounds like im making excuses, i am. We are all humans though
Yeah my dad was more than a gambler tbf, much worse. My (older) brother’s have a different dad to me and my dad practically ruined their lives, education, compromised their safety. No two ways about it I’d have gutted the bloke without giving it a second’s thought.
Tell you what though coming from a poor background is character building. I can appreciate the poor. My older bro is all about the moneys and is always thinking about money making ideas though whereas im quite blase about it. Saying that if i was on the breadline maybe my mindset would be different but i was one of the younger ones and had it relatively good. Plus im lazy and like my hobbies which are time consuming (tv footie games films holidays) Deffo making my kids work for their money
Sympathize with this Bobby having had friends and family with the same sickness. Gambling kills families, friends as quick as alcohol and drugs.and not an easy thing to cure.
