The video I saw was at HT when the yanks on nbcsn said something happened and we switched on skysports and saw the replays of the guy half punching grealish in the neck. I didn't see anyhting about a steward tripping a player. I think personally a 6-10 point deduction is appropriate here. The fan who ran on at arsenal really let his club down. I'll admit he MIGHT not have heard about it but you'd have to live in a cage not to hear someone talking about the incident at the game even.
so: week 30 of the premier league is over..... what did we learn? 1. Its and always has been a 2 horse race. 2. Spurs are hilarious. 3. Any of the 4 clubs could finish 3rd now and anyone of them could be 6th! 4. Everton are a joke 5. The battle for relegation should nearly all over but some **** teams keep falling back in. Fulham and hudderfield are goners but cardiff are just clinging on. Brighton and southampton and burnley are utter dross 6. Rafa is getting quite impatient to be able to declare a miralce of the loaves and fishes variety at newcastle. Cardiff are the only fly in the ointment right now. He needs one more win to be safe.
Think what it shows is games against teams at the bottom aren’t going to be a walkover as they’re all still in a relegation battle.
Should make Birmingham play behind close doors. Don’t agree on points deduction, it’s not really the clubs fault. He’ll ovviously get a lifetime ban, that doesn’t seem to put off some people though. Play your next home game behind closed doors as well as next home game v villa
theres a long history here..... Behind closed doors is one way to go but that punishes club too. They are on 50 points so a 10 point draconian deduction would seem to make a statement but at same time doens't hurt birminham one iota. right now they are 5 points off play ffs with 10 games to go so it would say you've just cost yourself any small chance you had. however it IS the clubs fault. they are responsible. If we played at old trafford and someone knifed vvd would you forgive utd? Thats the thing. We used to have fences and we sort of put up with streakers but some countries still have fences and barriers. Are we saying its not the clubs fault if something happens then? they are clearly responsible for safety.
If Birmingham are given a points deduction, what is to stop someone dressing as a City fan and doing the same. They may struggle to get a ticket to the Etihad though, what with the huge demand
How does a club stop one lunatic from running on the pitch? Yes the club are responsible, yes there are probably things could have done better but like most things, if someone really has heart set on doing something stupid, not much can do. Is it the polices fault if one day I decide to just drive my car into a crowd of people? Is it my company’s fault if I decide one day to turn around and hit someone in the office? Yes birmingham should be punished, but main it’s a tricky situation. A points deduction hurts Birmingham and some argue it would stop the fans doing it as it hurts their club but in these scenarios tend to think that this person doesn’t care much about the club anyway. Hardly football fans.
I would say let's hold on this club's punishment for the time being. If it continues then we may have no choice than to include this as a deterrent. We know from past experience that if the club suffers then all attached to the club (staff, stewards, fans, executives) will do anything in their power to stop this thing occurring. The fans themselves sitting next to the guy will turn on him and tell him to stop being a moron if the club is going to be deducted points.
The club should be punished for not providing a safe working environment. 3 home games behind closed doors would be appropriate IMO.
If it's the same club all the time then yes it would fall on them to make serious changes in order to make it a safe environment and if they don't then fair enough if there's a punishment.
Quote from a BS fan on the internet (twitter, I think): "Jordan Pickford is ****ing ****e. He lost us this game the dinosaur armed little twat"
And what if some ****ing moron at our club (we have them too) does something similar, would you be calling for it then? How can a club be expected to predict the aberrant behaviour of every individual amongst thousands? Do we want to give short-term reactionary politicians the opportunity to cage everyone in again? There are standards of security set, and if everyone is content with them and adheres to them then they can't do much more. Perhaps the standards need reviewing, but unless the club has been negligent in some way they shouldn't be held accountable - and certainly the rest of the innocent fans shouldn't be. This is a problem for society at large and not just football - we can't restrict freedoms too much because of the actions of a few rogue individuals. Punish the guilty, not all of those associated with them.
points deduction should be for major cases like -anything we can think of against city this season And they should be deducted whatever points would enable us to win the title #desparatetimes
