<laugh> that’s good enough , i always keep an eye at the other meetings , surprising how some trainers like to slip a dark one in under cover of the festival :bandit:

Good old Jim Best was the one for that.

My d1 antepost selections in EW accas from doubles upwards

    Elixir De Nuts
    Hardline
    Up For Review
    Apples Jade
    Limini
    Riders Onthestorm
    NR in the last

Not going to put the prices on, some much bigger than currently and a couple shorter than the best odds now. Pretty happy with the declarations for day 1, will be interesting if day 2 and day 3 declarations are as kind

Chaps, hope you are all well?

It's my first time on for a long time because the lure of Cheltenham was too strong to stay away.

I'll try to get on every day this week to pick up some of your collective knowledge.

If only Chan. Brexit bit with a vengeance on my margins so i sold my old business and started selling to trade instead of consumers. We've done fair enough with that approach thank god because we've got our second baby due in April.

congratulations, been busy in the breeding game as well , i’m sure folk won’t stop drinking , so seems like a fairly decent punt if you can maintain your “ margins” , i’m sure you’re not in the vinegar end of the market , so the higher end tipplers are immune from austerity!

Worth looking at anything Gavin Cromwell has entered in the UK over the week. The last couple of years he has snuck in a few very well handicapped winners whilst Cheltenham has been on. Currently has two entered at Sedgefield and two entered at Southwell on Tuesday....

just noticed that there are already more comments on the Tuesday thread than the Monday one<laugh>

the Cheltenham buzz has definitely kicked in for me this morning. I'm always so busy at work in the month leading up to the festival that I haven't got the time to look at the form etc too much. Anyway had a quick look through the races yesterday, listened to the Radio 5 Cheltenham preview podcast this morning (worth a listen) and then had a fry up in a café reading the Racing Post preview. I reckon I'm all set!<ok>

one point - have we now reached or even got past the peak Cheltenham Festival hype? I say that because I notice that Radio 5 have cut their coverage this year to just the main Championship races. In the past few years coverage over TV and radio just seemed to increase with every passing year, interesting that it is now going into reverse. Also apparently this is John Inverdale's final year of presenting radio coverage after 30 years. I know he increasingly seems to annoy people but I for one think he has done a fantastic job over the years. A shame he will no longer be doing it.

Day 1 looks to be the toughest opening to a festival in years but I would love to see COO STAR SIVOLA win the Ultima Handicap Chase at 2.50pm. Get the 12/1 while you can <cheers>
