Nap - Paisley Park, would also be great for a smaller owner and trainer to win a big prize.

Lay - Clan Des Obeaux, hopefully Native River will make it a good test like last year and his stamina will be put to the test.

EW - Grand Sancy in supreme or City Island in Ballymore for novice races. Eclair de Beaufeu looked an interesting one on its last run but currently entered in most the handicaps so not sure where it is running.

‘No reason’ Santini will not run in RSA, says Henderson

Nicky Henderson still expects Santini will line up in the RSA Insurance Novices’ Chase at next week’s Cheltenham Festival – despite pulling off a shoe when schooling at Newbury on Sunday.

The seven-year-old has been the long-time ante-post favourite for the Grade One contest on Wednesday week, having made an impressive debut over fences at Newbury in November before placing third in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

However, he was a notable drifter in the betting on Monday, with money coming for his main market rival in the shape of the Gordon Elliott-trained Delta Work.

Henderson took to Twitter in an attempt to dispel the doubts about his participation. He said: “Santini lost a shoe yesterday and our vet poulticed it as a precautionary measure. “I have been away from the yard today but have spoken to my staff and they report him fine and we see no reason why he won’t run in the RSA. “Should that change, I will update accordingly.”

    Very much game on...<ok>

At least we know Santini is in the very best of hands, or should I say the very best of ‘magic hands’. Who, afterall, can ever forget the miracles that Lieutenant Henderson performed to get Binocular back on the track to win his ‘Champion Hurdle’. Personally, I always thought he should have been beatified after performing that incredulity.

But, people, at least we still have hope re Santini and when there is hope anything can be achieved. Especially when you have an across the card double involving Lieutenant Henderson and hope. Where there is discord, he brings harmony. Where there is error, The Lieutenant brings truth. Where there is doubt, he presents us with faith. And, never forget, where there is despair, he brings hope. God bless you Santini and God bless you Lieutenant Henderson.

Nap - Faugheen in the Stayers, if the Machine turns up he wins this. "Simples" to quote Mrs May

Lay - Champ in the Ballymore, just don't think his rating matches his form

E/W - Shattered Love in the Gold Cup, as usual the pace, ground, and course will catch out a few fancied ones. off the back of a break this has an E/W squeak at around 25/1

With Get In The Queue out of the Bumper my each-way will be Aramon in the Supreme Novices. His stablemate Klassical Dream has been the one for money in the race but Ruby's mount is quarter of the odds of Aramon, yet does not have a lot in hand from their previous clash. Aramon is in similar territory to the best rated in the race and in his last few races he has travelled through the race well and with William Hill paying SEVEN places at odds of 12/1, I feel that represents a low risk bet.

    1.30 Tuesday Aramon 12/1 E/W 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 places.

Aramon 6th, so bet covered. The rain probably cost him finishing in the first three.

My Nap ran a stinker but I did better with the lays:-

"I usually put several up as lays. This year I feel the following are all Lays at current odds:-

Presenting Percy, Clan Des Obeaux, Al Dancer, Glen Forsa, Laurina, Champ, Delta Work and Sir Erec".

Sickeningly, Sir Erec was fatally injured and that's the big downside of the game we love.
