Admittedly it was an old term when I was young....it was used and I knew what it was, but an out of date term.
I only remember that florin was our old root password in my old job to all the Linux boxes. But Fl0r1n though. If you look me up in LinkedIn and guess the previous company it was used at that could be dangerous - though if they haven't changed it after 9 odd years they deserve all they get
I used to collect coins and the 2/- or Florin was one of the most attractive coins, although the examples in circulation were all pretty worn by the time I started. The 10p coin replaced it, and at the time was the same size. The shilling and florin were kept in circulation for a while, where as the old copper coins went out immediately.
