Only saw the second half, but I saw a team playing very hard. They just couldn't string together any passes. O9 wins a lot of balls just by being normal sized (5'11"). Think we're just too small. While I was looking for O9's height, I found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westbrook_Hay_School Check out the alumni.
Watmore and Flanagan both injured in the last few minutes, and if its three games for Honeyman he misses the final according to Radio Newcastle if the international weekend gets our game called off, this has been a bad day at the office in spite of the result, the referee and Wycombe Wanderers have a lot to answer for but will they be held responsible I doubt it, this is another test for Jack Ross.
Thought for a minute there we were gonna break the golden rule of CONCACAF WCQ: Never lose to an opponent in dreadlocks.
No we've got Barnsley and Fleetwood away and Walsall at home all before the 24th March. just double checked the fixtures on the clubs website.
We seem to play to the oppositions strengths, instead of using quick pass and move along the ground, we lump the ball into the opposition half far too much, this is due to poor passing ability at the back, not lack of ability in the mid field. imo Its the International Break which may affect one of those games as well if we have players away on international duty.
The Fleetwood game might be rearranged due to international call ups though so he might still miss it.
Yes of course - my mistake. If we get one more call up confirmed we’ve got the option to pp the Fleetwood game.
Last international break Jack asked Scotland to release McLaughlin and we played the fixture, expect him to do the same if it helps to get players back for the final. The way we played first half you'd think the players had the final very much on their minds...unfortunately.
Anyone think that playing a full strength side for the tinpot cup on Tuesday and the euphoria the win produced, did not make a diffetence today?
Disappointed with dropping points and Honeyman's red from the bench but you can't help but be impressed with our refusal to be beaten. Yet another consecutive scoring game too.
Not really no and besides winning games and going into the next game on a high is a good thing. Doesn't mean you'll play well and win but it's certainly better than going in on a low.
WTF happened? Checked the score at 90+3 and thought we'd lost, then checked just now and 1 all with 3 reds.
Hmm if we had lost on Tuesday I reckon we would have had a 'reaction' and played better today... but from listening on the radio and RR player ratings we were awful
I think a bit of perspective needs to be put here. Been a tough week with two back to back away games both involving long road trips. Said it time and time again that if we can't win get the point and for that today was a testament to when the chips are down we have a team full of belief and character to keep going to the end and never give up. We can't assume we are going to play great football week in and week out. To an extent this league doesn't allow it with game after game following very quickly. Proud of the lads again today. We have had teams in the past that if the wind changes direction we cave in....not these lads! Obviously by today we don't just fight for everything on the field but also off it on the benches. Always wanted a team that plays for us that when the opposition walk off the field at the end of the game they know they have been in a battle.......and we battled today......not pretty but hey we can worry about that in the Premier League. Hope not too many 'nay sayers' get their panties in a twist about today's game....let's roll on to Barnsley and get something out of that game too. We can see we are accumulating injuries and suspensions....this is going to happen with all the teams for the run in.....however we have a large squad and to me this will be a huge advantage for us over everyone else. Finally, well done Dunc!!! I know the last few years have been horrendous for you but you delivered today when it mattered. Tell the people who question your ability to go and f*ck themselves.....haway the lads!!!!!
People need to accept we are an above average League One Team, not world beaters. Only team spirit and leadership have got us to where we are. If we all stick together we will be ok
