Wasn't the best game but I didn't feel Swansea was going to score, but 1 magical shot was the difference.
Well that was certainly a grind it out game. Six wins from the final 10 games and we hit the magic 90 points.
When you look at the fixtures for the other teams in the top 6, there are a few 'crunch' games and IMO, the biggest of them all is next Saturday at Elland Road and at least one team MUST drop points. The best antidote is for us to win as many points as possible and 3 tonight was brilliant and puts pressure on the teams still to play.
excuse me, lads, for having been away a long time (OK, too long), but felt I had to look in tonight - you're just on amazing form, and honestly really delighted for you. The old-timers here will know I'm a friendly Reading fan from years back (from even the BBC 606 days) but, hey, hats off where it's due.......
Long time no see, daib0 and thanks for your positive words. Hope you get Oliveira back soon and push up the table.
MB on the pink un with a good fact. Apparently no team that has broken 70 points after 36 hasn't been promoted. And only once was that not via autos (huddersfield, and on that occassion three teams had all got 70 or more by 36 games.) Omens.
Wow. What a result! met up with a mate to see the game at a Sports Bar. Good job we had access to alcohol. That was tense and uncomfortable. First half was typical Norwich not really in it, and had to hang on. Swansea looked good. We had a spell somewhere around 30ish minutes where we were a bit more like it for 5-10 minutes. Second half was hard, but better. Swansea still played well, but we upped it a step. Emi's goal was typical of him. Total class. Being a goal up, helped us, we were able to counter them a few times. Could have grabbed a second on another day. The relief when that final whistle blew... This team finds a way. Another 3 points on the board. Amazing. Over to you Leeds and Sheff U.
From ‘Paddy’s Pinter’s – ‘When you watch the majesty of Buendia’s goal, plus that escalating tally of assists, it beggars belief this was a player scratching around on loan for a side relegated to the Spanish third tier last season. Buendia’s signing was the product of a scouting system which, along with the free transfer arrival of Teemu Pukki, must be the envy of so many in the Championship. Norwich have signed two players who have been absolutely pivotal to the promotion push for a fraction of the money rivals have lavished on alternatives with bigger reputations but much slimmer measures of productivity. It prompts the question just what could Stuart Webber and his recruitment department do with a Premier League budget which should enable upgrades? They will have to go some, however, to top the two card trick that enticed Buendia and Pukki to Norfolk.’ https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...dy-davitt-pointers-championship-win-1-5927829
A VERY accurate summary FML and we were really 'under the cosh' for large chunks of the match and yes, the relief at CR at the final whistle was IMMENSE!!! Let's hope we can rack up another 3 points on Wednesday.
Were you there JM? What was the atmosphere like? Seemed pretty tense for large periods. Was there much singing through the game? Or was everyone's mouths full of finger nails?
That's an understatement!!!! Less singing than usual, but the fans still gave the team great support. I'll be there Wednesday as well!!! The Bell was RAMMED.
