This coming Sunday sees (barring unforeseen issues) the return to the saddle of Ruby Walsh after another lengthy injury. Ruby goes to Listowel for just the one ride on Tony Martin's gelding Salute Him in the 3.00 race. Marvellous to see him back riding and here's hoping for an injury-free season Incidentally Ruby won on Ebor-flop Salute Him at this time last year at Listowel .....
He's certainly missed when not around. Can be a bit cocky and I sometimes wonder if he is good value on moderate horses. But he's great to watch.
Peerless pilot and tremendous to see him back at the graetest festival of them all. I have been on several occasions and it beats Cheltenham hands down, not to mention the insipid fashion orientated flat "festivals".It really is a 24hr 7 (now 8) day fiesta.Always curious to see if I could still cut there.Unfortunately I know someone who says I'll never find out! Oddy,I see Russian War is declared to run on Sunday in the 4.35 at Listowel,a 2m4f beginners event under Paul Carberry.Looks like being a maximum 17 runner field around the tight Kerry track...potentially great spectacle but a race to take a short price?
Watching brief Dexter. He did OK last time and was given a "schooling ride" by PC so should come on for that. De Valira looks very dangerous stepping up in trip.
