Oh it'd be ****ing marvellous mate Actually glad that that one is a Friday night and will probably go.
Mane was totally MIA yesterday thought we should have tried swopping him & Origi round. We are looking pretty toothless away from home and really the front players to regain their form as a group asap. I still think City will drop points somewhere along the way but the worry has to be can we actually keep it together enough to take advantage if/when that happens.
We were **** against utd who handed it to us and our commitment just went missing yesterday, in the Derby of all games. Desperately disappointed. Thank God I have a good memory.
Never make excuses directly after the result. If he had made a passing comment in the press conference before the next game I could understand, but excuses straight after a result are just poor.
Chris Sutton: “It’s ridiculous to say Liverpool is bottling it. It’s not over yet, there are nine games to go. Liverpool fans are bottling it, not the players”
The one thing i would say about sutton is hes a giant nob and knows **** all. Saying that you guys are still in with a chance and city are currently scraping by
We’ve drawn away at Everton, Utd and West Ham and at home to Leicester (in tricky conditions) - We weren’t outplayed. We’ve conceded 2 goals in those 4 games. We are one point off the lead. 9 points from 3rd and 13 points from 5th. Fine margins, yes but hardly the crisis that the press or rival fans want it to be!!
Can't believe some of the negativity being voiced, its media fed mostly but some is coming from people who should know better.
City lost 2/3 games in quick succession a couple months ago and the title was ours. Since then they’ve won 9/11 I think? We’ve drawn 3 of last 4 and now the title is theirs. Its just everyone being over the top, city had their blip and found their form again, we’re going through our blip, if we can find form again then will be close until end of season. Can’t see boh teams winning 9/9
The issue is that we’re becoming incredibly predictable in our team selection. In the big games (certainly away from home), klopp continues to pick certain players who won’t offer anything more than defensive stability. I just hope klopp now releases the shackles and we go all out. Ditch the conservatism and be more aggressive. I’m sorry but bringing on Milner and Lallana to change a game is criminal.
Like said numerous times we don’t really have many other options though. Yeah Keita and shaq but they haven’t really done much starting this year, where has gini/hendo/fab/Milner are part of a midfield which has lost once all season. Not disagreeing that that we are predictable but we don’t have a David Silva, a kdb or Bernardo Silva to come on and change the game for us.
Good point. We need to keep a sense of perspective. Of course it is not a crisis. But it is not looking good either. We could say that we would have given our right arm to be at this point given the choice at the start of the season. On the other hand we were at several points recently 7 points ahead and at point we could have been 10 ahead. We shouldn’t be too negative but we shouldn’t be looking at the gift horse in the mouth either. For me the away form is very worrying and the worst match was not the Goodison one but the Old Trafford one. That match was literally “here are 3 points as our key players are falling like ninepins “ but our players didn’t have the balls to go for it. You need a bit of luck to win the title but you need to keep your nerve and play for the win. Otherwise I can see a few draws in our away games.
That echoes my thoughts at the time. Show me the post-match interview where Fergie ever blamed the players. It was the ref; it was no toilets on the motorway; it was the transgender feminazi lesbians running the BBC. He wrote the manual. There does seem to be a media conflict in City getting two 1-0s, barely scraping through despite chances, and their win is "assured" but with us it's pressure. It sure looks like they're feeling it, too.
