I started watching in the very early 80’s and the only one that stood out then was a very young Chris Waddle. However at that age he was extremely frustrating to watch as while he could beat a man he hadnt yet learnt to cross.

    So Shearer.

    Not even close.

Always loved a swashbuckling full back.

Mark Stimson. Such a silky player.

****ing Jim Smith was a mad man. He signed the ****er twice. Must have been those luscious blonde locks.

tbf that wasn't even Jim Smith's worst signing, no that would have to be the worst football player ever, the bungling, cack-handed slug-slow gormless paralysed oaf that was Wayne Fereday.

Although tbf Jim Smith did work an absolute miracle when he managed to fob Bournemouth oaf with the useless **** and we got Gavin Peacock in exchange!!!

They all have their moments. I have to say Fereday was awful, but I don't think he can match Stimson for ****eness. Mark Stimson will forever be the worst footballer I've watched live. I've never seen someone that inept - it was like a comedy sketch where they'd found the kid at school who actively ran away from the football and started some warped mission to make him a pro.

I had a look at his career stats just now. Telling he never made more than 58 apps for any other club. Indeed he only managed double figure apps at 5 of his 12 clubs. His 19 year career reads like an absolute car crash and yet we bestowed the record number of apps he ever made for one club. Only Newcastle.

Obviously Shearer being a 90's fan but barring him, probably Tiote, Speed, Woodgate, are up there. someone mentioned Gutierrez - YES! That goals vs West Ham :emoticon-0152-heart

Special mentions for HBA, Ginola, Asprillia as well.

Stimson was over ever really played by Jim Smith, hardly got a game under Ardiles and Keegan cos they immediately realised he was dogshit. Yes he was ****, I just literally don't think I've ever seen a worse player than Wayne Fereday, he literally made Albert Luque look good value for money!

Also ****e as he was as a player, Stimson's made a pretty decent manager, whereas Wayne Fereday couldn't even grow a decent moustache, let alone manager a team.

    but yeah top 5:

    1. Beardsley - just a joy to watch every time, especially in his second stint, him playing with Cole was just stunning
    2. Ginola - amazing skills, he embodied the entertainers label.....and I WAS THERE when he did THAT goal against Fenacvaros (take corner on chest, up once with the knee, puts it's over his head, smashes left foot volley into the net....**** yes.
    3. Andy Cole - just a legend when he was with us, we had the best player in the country in the best form of his life
    4. David Kelly - you just had to love him didn't you? Gave everything for us, and basically saved our existence with THAT goal vs Pompey
    5. Mick Quinn - incredible skills and finishing for someone so grossly fat.....I remember when we signed him the fans didn't know him and had a banner saying Who The **** Is Mick Quinn, he scored 4 on his debut and ran over to the banner and said "I'm ****ing Mick Quinn!"

so yeah, close ones being Rob Lee, Sir Les, Pav and Phillipe Albert.....I'll never include Shearer, cos as great as he was, his best years were at Blackburn, and your favourite player can't be one who was better for another club.

    Colesley.

Can't have one without the other, along with KK responsible for everything that followed.
