Any one know the reason behind the half time announcements for every one to leave the ground.....good job it was a false alarm, hardly any bugger moved anyway.
"There's been an incident inside the stadium, please exit the stadium but avoid the lifts" or something like that.
Basically that there'd being a incident inside the ground and could everyone leave the stadium....was announced twice before some fella came on and said it was a false alarm. Everyone's reactions were a tad on the slow side.
For anybody not at the game: So at half time, we were told twice to leave the stadium after an incident had happened. People on the concourse started to leave. People in the stand (myself included) didn’t budge as the stewards just stood there clueless as to what to do. On the second tannoy, some stewards started to evacuate the south stand. Fortunately, it ended up being a false alarm. Quite a worry that nobody seemed to know what to do.
I was - like many in the stands - waiting for the stewards to start doing something. They just stood there looking at each other until the second announcement when some finally started moving people.
West stand emptied pretty quick east stand nobody moved and stewards just sat drinking their hot chocolate oblivious to anything.
Why is it a worry , ? An observers overall view is heightened to any threat/danger levels by the advantage of being in a sporting stadium supported in concrete casts & being able to see all around at a greater natural degree of depth of vision and therefore determine that it doesn't affect them in the immediate. Maybe!
Police in North stand did not move at all, was obviously false alarm. A pre-recorded announcement suggests someone pressed the wrong button.
Might have been a better reaction/quicker clearance if they'd said 'The Allams have decided to stay for good!!!!
Quite a few were trooping out of the East Stand early rather than applaud the team off. Must have been trying to avoid the crush.
I've never ever ever ever been for a (stig o' the) dump at City. Been one or two close calls, but never ever never. Been close to puking and have puked outside BP. Maybe this could become some sort dark arts version of the 92 club - going for a dump in every one of the 92 league clubs.
