Because that's what you do when you are up 2-0 and your strikers are somewhat useless anyway. The problem with has never been the tactic of playing a bit more defensively in the late stages of a game. It's that they suck so bad at executing it.

If SP works well regularly, but is uncooperative during matches, it's probably a lack of server capacity or similar on the club's side. Unfortunately, means that unless they upgrade their infrastructure, it'll probably be a continuing issue.
