I wasn't Nigels biggest supporter, but he's done well in general in spite of our owners lack of backing. I seem to recollect that whilst Nige himself said he's not concerned about contract talks, and is focused on the balance of this season and preparing for next, he intimated that he hoped some talks would take place when we had no game for 10 days leading up to last Saturday. To date, no further comment, to date at face value no players contracts discussions appear to be taking place, and so we head into another Summer of major upheaval! With attendances I suspect continuing to fall, remaining revenues falling through the floor next season, I genuinely fear this Summer could well be the worst yet we have experienced with the Allams in charge. The focus no doubt will be on selling Bowen, getting Grosiki off the books, and living within our means, and whilst not wishing to knock that philosophy in that sustainability must be at the top of the list, without any new owner intervention fear that next season will be doubly difficult by comparison to this on the pitch. One things for sure, the club will be worth significantly less than £50m come the Summer, so the Allams have to bite the bullet and take a hit irrespective of whatever creative accountancy Allamhouse provides them with, because the club is heading only in one direction both on and off the pitch as it stands with their current management ethos approach! Do us all a favour, and just s*d off! Even a return of concessions isn't going to recover what they've lost whilst they remain in charge!
He has done a great job in difficult circumstances. A manager can only be as good as the players he has. I expect now a summer exodus and the departure of the last two Jewels in our team along with those whose contracts have expired departing as happened last year. Either no offers of new contracts will be forthcoming or they will be paltry offers and, as happened last summer, they will all leave. Once they have sold our best two players the value of the club will significantly drop. No one will pay the asking price now so, I expect them to wring the last drops of lucre from us and then sell on cheaply. The worry is that new owners will need considerable funds to invest and we are no longer the attractive proposition we once where...things don't bode well.
At my age I think there is considerably more chance I will City in League 2 than the PL again. We were getting rid of all the kids wearing Leeds, Man U, Liverpool kits and getting larger crowds than both rugby teams combined. What a lost opportunity. And all because of the intransigence of our bone headed owners. Yet some idiots blame it all on CTID and him not getting his way over the name change. They deserve what's coming.
Our only hope of the Allams leaving this summer is for Bowen and Grosicki to be sold and bring in £20-30 million. That way the Allams can bank it and reduce the price of the club to a reasonable amount. I can't see anyone currently paying what they're asking for.
Off the top of my head so not definitely correct, I believe as things stand we will be losing the manager and the following players: Marshall Kane Mazuch Ridgewell Henriksen Evandro Campbell Keane Pugh Martin Mannion Burton That leaves us without enough senior players to fill a matchday squad. Sell Grosicki and Bowen and you can only just name a team. If you play somebody out of position. Long Kingsley Burke De Wijs McKenzie Lichaj Batty Stewart Irvine Toral Milinkovic Bowen Grosicki Dicko
Still one year to go at the end of the season I believe. The Allams will want him off the payroll being the highest paid player left.
Would love to be wrong, but reckon Bowen will be gone for anything over £12m, whilst Grosicki will go for nowt
If they were astute business people, the brokering of the deal should be X amount in cash and in the event that new owners financial support allows the club back into the premiership that they get paid 20% of revenue from the first and 10% of revenue from the second years in the premiership if that happens within a 4/5 year period. Or is that too common sensical.
When they want to see how to run a football club outside of London, they should be ashamed at seeing what Burnley have done.
I thought Adkins would be the one person they would definitely give a new contract to The only thing worse then losing most of our best players in the summer would be having to start from scratch with a new management team Trying to make any sense of what the Allams do is pointless though
I'm just hoping that their reason for not giving Nigel a contract yet is that the club will finally be sold and that is a decision of the new owners. There again I always was an optimist, and the likelihood is that Ehab is just doing things in a cack-handed way as usual.
I fear even if they got that type of money for Bowen and Grosicki that they would still ask for the same price. They are complete **** tards after all
Adkins wont get a job elsewhere any time soon i cant imagine so he will be upnfor any kind of half sensible c9ntract offer i reckon
If clubs on the lookout for a new manager have a good understanding of what and who he had to work with here, I think they'll be giving him the eye.
If contracts aren't sorted then 5 of the starting 11 last night won't be here next season (Marshall, Kane, Henriksen, Pugh, Martin). 45% of the starting line up. 1 of the used subs also won't be (Ridgewell). 33% of used subs. So 6 out of 14 used players. 43% of used players. Oh and the manager. 100% of managers. So should contracts not be renewed/free agent loanees signed then our team will probably be: Long Lichaj Burke De Wijs Kingsley Batty Stewart Grosicki Irvine Bowen Dicko Bench: McKenzie, Toral, Milinkovic, +4 others If we sell Bowen and Grosicki then: Long Lichaj Burke De Wijs Kingsley Batty Stewart Milinkovic Toral Irvine Dicko Bench: McKenzie + 6 others I hope we have a more active transfer window!!
