If we're still looking at the 10 bills place per day. Doncaster 14:25 Bergo place.

Yesterday Club Oceanic won for me at 100-30, so I have about an 18 bills return.

After 2 days here the remaining totals (starting pot €70, €10 per day bet):

Oddy
Thursday 8th - Money Never Sleeps (4th) -10
Friday 9th - Glenridding (5th) -10
Remaining pot €50 (2 losers @ €10)

Cyc
Thursday 8th Club Oceanic (won) paid 1.70 tote place --> returns €17
Friday 9th Bergo 4th -10
Remaining pot €67

My 30% stretch target is looking iffy. At least we will have some jumps action from Sunday ................. fancy my chances more there

Islander its interesting you mentioned Samitar - that was gonna be my pick but I was worried 1 might get withdrawn leaving a 7 runner race with only 2 places .............

Saturday going for something a bit more adventurous:

2.35 Donny Swiss Dream

4 places up for grabs here and this classy filly will get every assistance from Olivier Peslier in the saddle

Thought I might take the other tack and try safety. Islander's idea of an exactor sounds interesting.

Doncaster. 15:10 Sea Moon. <cheers>

PS. Looks as though we have Peslier down for a good day.

You don't have to open a Tote Account most online bookmakers also do Tote as well.

Thanks Bustino - the way the experiment is going I think I may not bother <laugh>

Here the stats after day 3:

Oddy
Thursday 8th - Money Never Sleeps (4th) -10
Friday 9th - Glenridding (5th) -10
Sat 10th - Swiss Dream (18th) -10
Remaining pot €40 (3 losers @ €10)

Cyc
Thursday 8th Club Oceanic (won) paid 1.70 tote place --> returns €17
Friday 9th Bergo (4th) -10
Sat 10th Sea Moon (3rd) paid 1.10 tote place --> returns €11
Remaining pot €68

I think I need a bloody miracle just to show a profit but at least we have jumps action today:

<cheers> Cyc. I feel much happier picking over the sticks so with the Listowel festival starting today I'm hoping for a sharp upturn in my fortunes <ok>

Well done the Aussies BTW - always good to get going with a win in these big tournaments <ok>

This is without doubt the worst experiment since Dr Frankenstein said to his assistant "let's see if we can sew this head onto this body"

My concern with this experiment Oddy was that it would be a Frankenstein experiment (sort of successful) and you'd metamorphose into Karl Espumere (anagram). From then on you'd be advocating tote places on 1-4 shots. HELP...................

Oddy, the idea of trying to make a buck on place betting isn't a bad thing, but the tote is not the way to go. Place betting on the tote is a complete waste of time mate. The best idea would be to go to a bookie or maybe try Betfair. I've had three placed horses from four races but am struggling to break even. In my first bet, I got a $17 return on the $10 outlay, but should have received $18. My second return saw an $11 return when I should been returned $15. My third bet also returned $11 when it should have been $16. Forget the tote Oddy.

I won't bother with the last two days.

I reckon you're spot on about the tote mate, Betfair place market seems much better. I'll see out the 7 days just for the heck of it <laugh>
