See thats what pisses me off. Stephens has been crap and shouldnt be playing. But its the manager that picks him and he is doing his best. Cant really have a go at him for not being good enough.
Hard to be angry at at owner who most people don't even know exist. Can probably count how many games he's attended on one hand. The fact we spent no money with a team that has some big flaws should make people concerned enough about the owners intention or level of enthusiasm about the club.
We know though that we can't defend and we can't score. It's hardly a good recipe. But hey, we're alright in central midfield...
Plenty of time for a come-back. If we lose, so what, best we could have hoped for was a draw. We simply are not a good team, accept it. With luck, we might scrape 16th or 17th. No point in stressing ourselves or each other.
And could have scored before their first and again before their second, so whilst the defence is being panned, we also need better finishing to take the pressure off of the back line.
We're in a similar situation like we were against City in December. Ralph has to choose between using options from his bench to try and get back into it, or bin this game off and bring off the likes of Redmond in order to keep them as fresh as possible for Wednesday. And had that 3rd gone in, the decision would have been made.
I just don’t understand why we didn’t buy a decent defender in January... Bertrand would be better as a centre back...
Its the manner we concede the goals.if arsenal get the 2 goals with skill and play then fair enough.but we just gifted them 2 goals, thatts what grates
I think a lot of peoples (perceived) acceptance of relegation comes down to the fact that the owner/board doesn't seem to be willing to invest into improving us back into a mid-table team. It seems they are rather content to just ride out the storm for as long as possible before the inevitability of relegation happens (if not last season then this season. if not season probably next season). Ralph is a good manager but in the end of the day the team is not very good. We were lucky last season, and might get lucky this season but how many season of luck are we realistically gonna' get? IMO though I do think we are playing okay this match (mid/fowards.. backline is woeful). Just my 2 cents on why people are concerned about why nobody really cares that we might get relegated.
Listening at the same time to Solent and I am sure they were discussing that Ralph said the defence wasn’t good enough to stay up, as they were saying if that is so why didn’t he get someone like Cahill on loan. Ralph has backed himself to keep us up. Just hope his ability is up to it.
Or a decent *insert player position here. Not just a decent defender. Either the board have once again got it wrong/been tight with money. Or Ralph has seemingly miscalculated horribly to think that we're good enough to stay up. My money is on the former.
I do. Our owner is skint and the fit and proper person check is a joke. Kat laughing all the way to the bank.
I understand what you have written because we have been doing that all season. We are especially expert at that during injury time! We have a porous defence, it lacks quality, confidence and leadership and it might possibly cause us to be relegated. I care very much about us staying up, but honestly, l am trying not to get stressed any longer because we are ****e and l cannot do anything about it.
