I think the word “psilocybin” in the link might be a clue!

Not sure what troubles or problems your Son is experiencing trying to work in LA. Have just learned my Grand-daughter has been granted a work permit or at least permission to work (She doesn't have the permit in her hand yet true but she has been told there is no problem) and fly's out Sunday to meet her new employers. My son and his wife are already out there on holiday but is changing their plans to meet her. We think it is Charleston but I'm not sure........

They always do, and most of them vote Tory. A cull is required!

Like it. Sounds classically late 70's, by which time I was suited, booted and bringing up kids. But I thought it was an interesting time when young people were trying to establish an image that was different to the 60's. Mind you, a festival without music sounds odd by any standards. Sex drugs and rock n roll should have been the order. Any two without the third isn't a proper festival!

BTW, we should start a "best hitchhiking experience" thread!

Was it one of these? There's a few hoops to go through and fees to be paid.

I've worked and travelled extensively usually with my employer dealing with visas and work permits. Lets hope in future following (if it does happen, can but hope it doesn't) brexit UK/EU travel and in particular work visa/permits are considerably easier than USA or many of the countries I've had the pleasure of working in.
How about the students and young working travellers? Found this for Erasmus students https://www.bbc.com/news/education-47293927 haven't time to read in depth but there seems to be more questions than answers.

There was a rumour that Hawkwind were going to turn up, but they never did. Perhaps they couldn’t find the place. There were about 20 sets of bongos on site, including some of the big bass ones, so there was music of the home grown variety every evening. But mostly people wandering about talking to each other all weekend. Just a big counter-culture camping holiday really.

We camped next to a couple of enterprising Glaswegians who had been on the road all summer, with zero money; they set up a Free Food Tent, which basically meant they went round the site asking for donations, then threw literally everything they collected into a giant cauldron and offered bowls of the resultant bizarre mix to all comers. A bunch of dope dealers from London asked the Glaswegians if they could set up in business next to them, as a recognisable landmark would help their customers find them; in exchange for which they supplied them (and us) with unlimited hash all weekend.

Perhaps there should be a special "Silver Fox" hunt for them...release them all over the countryside to be chased by packs of rabid dogs...

Trouble is he is relying on the grey vote for his backward looking views and policies.

I read Jeremy Hunt has managed another cock up. He should change his name to Mike.

Great idea, but could all the oldies who have always voted Labour have immunity, please. We could run around waving copies of The Morning Star and singing The Red Flag to deter attack.

I explained it earlier. He paid $4500 petition fee for a temporary working visa so he could take a job he had been offered with a record producer in LA. 4 months later, no visa, no refund, no job.

I'm dismayed to see this, it's not an isolated chase, £10000 for a life! Those responsible need to be held so and face whatever disciplinary and legal process is in place.

I’d say Warwick would be more appropriate a name change.

But in their minds and a few million around the country it's a life that isn't contributing and just taking, some people are more worried about not paying a few more pennies in tax.
