It does seem that PAFC might of been saved from Kevin Heaney at the present time by the paying back of Lombards £2.1 million mortgage. It does seem that Heaney thought that it was a done deal with Lombard, but they do seem to want their last pound of flesh from PAFC,and obviously will not give an inch. So is it three cheers for Lombard saving Argyle from the jaws of Heinous Heaney,at the moment yes. We must not get to excited at the moment, remember Heaney hasn't walked away. This disagreement with Lombard could be the only thing stopping the sale going through,it might be the only blemish stopping a sale and purchase agreement being rubber stamped by the Football League, to stop them returning the golden share to PAFC. If he soughts that out Heaney could still be in the driving seat. OK has he got the money to then do the deal......most of us hope not.....but we cannot be a 100% sure. One glimmer of hope which I read, and I hope I read it correctly is that James Brent had offered Lombard a better deal.if that is so we need to hang on to that and hope Heaney doesn't match it. It was interesting that Heaneys comment this morning didn't link him with Peter Ridsdale, maybe Heaney in his fit of pique yesterday got it wrong. Peter Ridsdale will still be the stand-in CEO of PAFC during any take-over talks if Brent goes ahead. What ever you think of Ridsdale at the moment Brent needs his football expertise to hold things together on the football front. Later if Brent is successful it mighy be down to Ridsdale either wanting to be CEO under someone elses ownership or not,as I've heard somewhere else this morning say would Ridsdale want to play with someone elses train set. Heaney hasn't gone yet......so don't drink all the bubbly just yet.
Hopefully Heaney will get the picture that his is unloved and bog off. Until then we will have to see...
Hobo, Lombard is in fact nothing to with Mastpoint. It is a large financial institution that supplies commercial loans, among other services.
Thanks Mac - I thought I had heard that they were part of Mastpoint but I was obviously mistaken. Comment withdrawn.
and how much can the fans and small business raise to help the brent consortium succeed. could be a way of having a supporters trist/group rep on the board
I find it encouraging to think it could be all signed up in just 3 weeks. Why oh why did Gullible fool not persue the Brent avenue much earlier when the ginger moron didn't cough up on que. Why is this fool still being paid when he has clearly cocked-up the administration process.
Because he has done exactly what he was told to do. Namely make as much money for P & A partnership as possible before a) selling the club or b) fold the club.
Because he is corrupt, thats why he is involved with his mates, Riddler and Beaney( Ginger Freak). They should be made to pay some of it back as its all gone on far to long, now we will see how long it takes! So GuilFOOl you twat, get it done then fook off or better still fook off now and take those other pricks with you. Guilfool has been very quiet of late tho! Is the Riddler still in New York? on a jolly, wonder if that councillor Mrs Spendgelley went, as she went on a world cup jolly at our expense. Makes me a bit sick as we all work had and they do fook all and think they are the bees knees, she is just as bad as the rest, Ugly bastard
Hang on a cotton pickin minute here. Who says this will take 3/4 weeks? We know nothing about the Brent bid yet. We also have no way of knowing if he had been the preferred bidder that he would have completed months ago either. I am a little concerned that everyone is lauding Brent as a saviour when the details as far as I know are not known. What is the criteria for everyone's optimism? He doesn't have a picture in the paper that makes him look like a weasel or what exactly. All I have ever seen is an assumption that he is good for the club. For all we know he could be the devil incarnate. Now don't get me wrong I'm not trying to make out that he is or indeed not saying he won't be the best deal on offer for us the supporters. Simply I don't know yet and would prefer to keep my powder dry at the moment. I am sure a lot of details will emerge after the deal is done or even there may be some kind of enquiry by the FA if they ever grow bollocks big enough to do something positive. That, if it happens, will show us the public the inside info on all of this and will prove the suspicions of the majority were either right or wrong with Heaney, Ridsdale and the conduct of the Administration by those being paid to conduct it.
I read one of the numerous articles going around at the moment and Brent said himself it would take a couple of weeks to get things organised. He also stated that priotiry was to get agreement of sale so that they coud take on running costs and ensure staff get paid ASAP, so they are not living from day to day. Well that already puts him head and shoulders above this bunch of responsibility dodging bastards in my book. Fully agree Sensible that it is a case of ifs and ands but if a new bid comes in from any other source they would be hard pushed to be any worse than what currently is on offer. I admit the photo does the weasel no favours but I think his actions and words are more damaging and there is no doubting the gingerness of him. 5th of August was the first date for completion, numerous other dates and deadlines have come and gone and there is always some excuse. FL must have major reservations not to green light the deal either that or Bil and Risdale didn´t fulfill previous requirements outlined from last meeting which either way is worrying. I would like to think details about the takeover would be forthcoming but I very much doubt they will ever come to light. I think it would be in the best interests of all concerned to keep stum about what went on as something stinks about the whole process. My main area of concern was Brents comment that he got on with Risdale and could see him being involved short and possibly long term.
I think you will find that there is also a comment from Brent that IF the deal is not done in 4 weeks then he is likely to walk away. That says to me "I have an agend also and it is up to you to bow to me". I'm just suspicious of all of them right now. That includes Brent because he is being touted as the real deal without anyone really knowing what he is offering or is about. I just want this whole sorry saga to be over and done with I suppose along with everyone else but am not expecting anything super dooper to come out of it all whoever it is.
Most of us hope that James Brent can Get his bid together very quickly. At the moment he is the bees knees in everyones eyes...........why ,because he hasn't had any responsibilities at present to let us down over. Things will not be so easy from now on..........he will have to start taking decisions over various things as he puts his take-over package together. It will be hard for him to please everyone all the time, He will be getting people involved that some will not agree with. The obvious person in some peoples eyes, that will cause concern will be Peter Ridsdale, Brendan Guilfoyle put him in charge of PAFC in administration and Brent will have to deal with him and depend on his football management experience in the weeks ahead. The end result is what we should keep our eyes on,and hope James Brent learns fast and successfully brings a bid through to a quick and beneficial conclusion for PAFC.
Boy oh boy, you lot are absolutely fantastic at spending other people's money, which I am sure you would agree is simple!! I will not ask the obvious question - get real
I don't see anything here about spending other people's money. What people want is a deal that actually goes through with the preference it seems by the majority for it to be Brent. I've not see anyone put on a post that says they expect somebody elses mega bucks to be offloaded down at Home Park. I also think that the supporters in the main at this club have "got real" over this whole affair. It isn't too much to expect supposed business people to have at least a tiny weeny bit of honesty about them and that is all that has been called for. All of these people put themselves forward to purchase Argyle themselves and nobody went hunting them and dragged them to the table which means they are willing to spend their own money without help from us.
