Beggars belief really. With how careful we've been with FFP to mess up in this regard seems utter madness and more evidence (if needed) how badly the club is being run at the moment.

Puts huge pressure on trying to get Hazard and CHO to stay now and may explain why Sarri is still around. What manager will come to us now!

Also the Dortmund kid signing makes even more sense. Club must have known this was coming.

If Sarri does leave, which looks pretty inevitable it does look like a good opportunity to get Lampard and Morris in and look at putting some of the youth in the first team.

I don’t think it’s as bad as people are making out. We’ve got 41 players loaned out so we won’t be short of players, some of them we paid 30m+ for too. It’s only for season anyway and I imagine we’ll appeal so we can delay it.

Might mean we start playing our youth. Not a bad thing

Glass half full for me too. Dumb, dumd and dumber how we get to this situation, puts more pressure on the Sarri thing though. Imagine if CHO, Hazard , Kante and RLC all pull up stumps as is being suggested !!!
Sarri ball would be laughable with them gone and no one coming in who can apparently play that way, cause most of our team can't !!

......I much preferred ‘Antonio Conte Ball’ with players running up the wing and getting the whole team forward. Victor Moses and Marcus Alonso were often superb in this role.

Running is something that seems to be missing in Sarri ball. Why run when you can pass ??
Kante and CHO showed the benefit of running against Malmo, RLC did his bit as well. Hazard runs, but too often only sideways because of the wall of defenders waiting for him, and Jorghino runs hardly at all as he is so slow anyway, in 90 mins he couldn't run out of sight on a dark night. Hopefully the rest of the team saw how much better we go when we do run, that maybe they'll all join in !!!!!!

Sarri’s golden boy Jorginho is great at passing sideways and backwards and hardly ever makes a successful forward pass. I was high up behind the goal at Wembley and it was very noticeable how every other player on the pitch was busting a gut to get forward when Jorginho spent the game jogging along and jesticulating and pointing.

Look on the bright side mate, it’s only two windows and this squad & manager have delivered Champions League football. Plus we can sell off all the deadwood like Morata, Drinkwater, Zappercosta etc too

True but the squad doesn't look remotely capable of challenging for the champions league and we can sell off dead wood but not replace them!!

Plus we have the Hazard and CHO contract issues all at the wrong time. Do we sell and leave us short or lose for nothing in 12 months??

The only real positive is us having to trust some of the youth for once which is long over due.

    Sell hazard.

Convince cho by giving him more game time which he should get naturally.

It will be good to bring more of the youth in. God knows how many we have on loan. We need to rebuild

I don't disagree, but concerned we don't have the manager who will give youth a real go. We'll end up renewing and keeping the likes of Luiz, Willian and Pedro and they'll still play most weeks. Not saying these players should be binned but they aren't the future.

Well we can’t just play youth or we will be relegated.

We're obviously not going to just play 11 kids but we may need to use more than we have previously and surely now is the time if ever? Given the ban, the players set to leave and how good our youth teams have been for years. It's either that or fill the squad with players who have not worked out like Drinkwater, Batsuayi and Bakayoko (who Milan will probably buy anyway).

Mount, Zouma, Kennedy, Abraham, Reece and Tomori have at least had good loan spells and represent options for the squad.

All of those bar Abraham’s should be given a spin. Zouma & Reece stand head and shoulders over the others though.

Zouma also has top level experience. Seems an obvious choice to replace Cahill in the squad. Seems a lifetime ago he played DM in that cup final v Spurs though!
