Apparently we are believed to have the best atmosphere of all Clubs in the PL. Nice to be top and at times it’s been pretty decent but if we’re top heaven help the Spuds.

Here’s the list from 1st-20th, as shared by Bet 365 earlier today following a poll on their Twitter page:

    1. St James’ Park (Newcastle)
    2. Anfield (Liverpool)
    3. Selhurst Park (Crystal Palace)
    4. The Amex (Brighton)
    5. Stamford Bridge (Chelsea)
    6. St Mary’s (Southampton)
    7. Molineux (Wolves)
    8. The John Smith’s Stadium (Huddersfield)
    9. Craven Cottage (Fulham)
    10. King Power Stadium (Leicester)
    11. Goodison Park (Everton)
    12. Vicarage Road (Watford)
    13. Turf Moor (Burnley)
    14. The Vitality (Bournemouth)
    15. The Etihad (Man City)
    16. Old Trafford (Man Utd)
    17. Cardiff City Stadium (Cardiff)
    18. The Emirates (Arsenal)
    19. London Stadium (West Ham)
    20. Wembley (Tottenham)
Anyway can be a now and again but excluding us where would you say had the best atmosphere (football grounds Chippy, football grounds).

For me, years back at Hillsborough was the best. Slightly biased as it was the Semi Final v Burnley.

Air freshener for the atmosphere, I think.

I never pay attention to this kind of thing. Its all too subjective really. St James can be great when the fans are up for it. Games against Man U and Chelsea always seem to bring out the best in the fans. Which was why I was so against Rafa's tactics against Chelsea earlier in the season.

I have to say though football isn't what it was. Standing in the Gallowgate (latterly the Milburn paddock when it was the only standing left), was a different gravy. I'm sure there are those that would never go back or will mention the toilets, or people taking a piss at the top and it running down to the front, but in terms of atmosphere there is simply no contest. You could feel the whole ground moving.

I'd go back to standing in an instant. Don't get me wrong I love the corporate stuff, the nice meals etc, but standing with a bunch of people you only know from a Saturday afternoon, jumping up in down, at times arm in arm, singing your heart out, was a special experience. Plus when its cold, standing is much better. The jumping up and down kept you warm.

This post is starting to sound like Relic’s reminiscences on the Fulwell End at Roker Park.

Can you point to where they touched you on this doll?

There is nothing in my post that suggests that at all.

This is either something to do with you spending a lot of time in seedy areas of asian countries with your big pal Glitter, or you are trying to lead this down a route where you can get something of your chest. If this is about what ACS did to you in the toilets at The Earl, you should know that he maintains you asked him to do it.

Nice to see the "theatre of dreams" is way down there, I imagine even the slightest cheering is frowned on and shushed out by the prawn sandwich brigade.

I saw us at the Emerates last season and went to the Spurs match at Wembley this season, and both are indeed ****, you get more noise in a library and more life in a cemetary.

Surprising to see Fulham high up though, I've been a few times, and it's totally quiet and nice, the away fans drown out the utterly silent home fans; this is also the stadium with the "neutrals stand"!!!!

It was just when you were happily describing holding hands with other men. I spent a season on that open Gallowgate stand and nobody ever held my hand.

Oh and Chippy said that was part of the Not606 Moderator Test so I felt I had to go through with it.

He certainly has his ways does chippy. I asked Groot to describe him in one word. He said "persuasive". I didn't want to know any more than that.

Arm in arm was my description bonny lad . Like, dare I say to a Manc, the poznan but not backwards. I didn't know Old Trafford had a Gallowgate.

Craven Cottage has always been asleep when I've been so surprised to see it in the top 10. Chelsea in at 5 :emoticon-0140-rofl: who wrote this ****? Some Chelsea fan high on crack, acid and meth is my only conclusion! West Ham in 19th is a travesty, haven't been to a game at the London Stadium but I point blank refuse to believe they have a worse atmosphere and make less noise than Arsenal.

That being said I refuse to go and watch the team while Ashley is in charge (or he atlest follows through on his promise to give "every penny to Rafa" - even though I don't think that's the smartest idea either) so maybe things have changed in the last few years but that list seems complete unadulterated nonsense once you get past the top 4.

I wonder if I could branch this out a little further? What's the best atmosphere outside the ground? I.e surrounding pubs etc?

Biggest failing of all the out of town new build stadiums is the lack of atmosphere round the stadium. Think we are lucky in that respect.
