    Morning all, back from my holidays. Done for another year.

    Haven't had any access to the internet since 10pm on deadline day (I saw we didn't sign a striker). What's been going on? Any news coming out of the club? Missed anything on here? What was the reaction to us not signing a striker by the fans and the club? Any other happenings? I could trawl through the last dozen pages on here to find out but that would take forever, and I'm lazy and tired :grin:

    Well, the NEWCASTLE UNITED sign on the east stand has gone. The club say its being replaced with identical lettering but it will probably be smaller and we have heard that it will go...Puma Logo....Sports Direct...NEWCASTLE UNITED...Sports Direct...Puma Logo.

    Pardew has blamed the board, he'll probably be sacked.

    I put my moderation title on the line and had to reach 4900 posts from 4500 in a day. I did it.

    Pardew said we tried to sign a striker but the board just couldn't get the fees right.

    Reaction was generally apathetic to be honest. Irked for a while but 24 hours later most of us just accepted it happened and moved on.

    Some rumours of a protest but many on here didn't see the point as it would achieve very little.

    Leazes posted a ridiculous amount of posts in less than 24 hours as a bet.

    Tash has an interview, AH is gay and someone had a dream that Ben Arfa crashed his car in a river but was rescued by a seal who then raised him as a baby seal.

    I said to Smudger that if I didn't reach 4900 posts by the next night, he could have my moderation post. I had to post 350 times or something.

    I remember a few rumours about the sign before I went. How long before the club shop is called 'SportsDirect@SJP'? With the striker, looking back Pardew seemed pretty resigned to the fact that it wouldn't happen quite a while ago with the same old cliches he kept rolling out. And congratulations on winning the challenge!

    AH is gay - is this official now!? I guess with the striker it's the outcome we all expected to be the most likely. At least we didn't pay £12m for Crouch. And wicked dream there. I've always found seals to be quite aggressive though so would be surprised by this kind act.

    Can't see the club giving any meaningful answers there - just had a search to see the questions. Went to the Maldives and it was ****ing brilliant mate! On the sealife theme, I got chased by an agressive tropical fish when snorkeling. Scary stuff. He was a double-ard bastard.

    Courageous move!

    I'm off on me hols on Sunday!!! Won't have to wear socks for a whole week! I'm so pleased.

    Brilliant thanks - really really not looking forward to work on Monday after two weeks off though! Still, got the weekend to come. Couple of the staff at the resort recognised a couple of Toon tops, they get loads of PL out there by all accounts on ESPN, more than we get here.
