That was when things weren't as lopsided financially. Its impossible for teams to compete with City, on all fronts, when they have about 5 £40m+ players on the bench each game and are spending £50m more a year on wages than us. That's the financial level it takes to compete on all fronts and we don't have that ability.
I want us to be that LFC again, but with all due respect I think it's you that is turning a blind eye to the hard truth - which is that we are not in a position to emulate that LFC of the past. Not yet, at least. In every other year I've agreed that we should do the best we can in all competitions - but not this year. We have a realistic chance of the big prize and everything else pales in comparison. I'd sell my granny for us to win the league again (admittedly she wouldn't fetch much as she's been dead for 50 years), and if going out of the cups is going to improve our chances then so be it. I'm not suggesting we throw the CL, by the way, just that if we don't progress I won't feel as bad as I would have in previous years. The old LFC that we want to be again had the resources to match any other team around them - the current one is still a little way off that.
Plus they are using shell companies to bypass regulations so they're even cheating on top of spending big https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/truth-liverpools-wage-bill-man-15830856 Same thing with PGMOL, we have to score about 1.5 #legit goals just to be credited with 1 goal #uphillstruggle
but not a spurs attitude... we've enough to compete. not when every cup turns up to say well.. actually.. let's prioritise a league game here. we've.gone from ok **** league cup draw who cares there's the fa cup later to oh fa cup who cares the cl.is what matters to oh the champions league let's not be too bothered here. next thing we will be third wondering what and how did that happen. rinse and repeat. spurs. i dont want that. it annoys me to even think that way. win the next game. don't worry about the rest l, let it take care of itself

Karius. He will be for ever known for throwing the biggest domestic game in Europe. Then trying to blame it on Ramos GBH and a conclusion
If you show someone yesterday's game and say one of these keepers is the most expensive ever and the other is a backup on a free transfer then about 97% of people would think Romero is the #recordsigning
Yet nobody cares about the fith round FA cup, who really watches that. Even Klopp doesn’t care, he will remember Karius however. Even shipping his best boy out and spending the previous world record keeper fee to erase the memory.
EFC know to crash out of any competition just before they are considered challengers Spurs crash out just after they are considered challengers and so get called #bottlers
Reminded me of when David Haye lost to Klitchko, blamed it on a bad foot. Yeah Karius it may have effected you, but don't use it as an excuse
I agree totally but modern day managers don’t Never have, Never will understand resting the gk but seen loads defend it on here Need a pot this season now We have gambled Let’s see where cards fall
