I must say I don't really mind all this as city are ironed on for the domestic treble now and probably 2nd or 3rd favourites for the CL.

cheslea in the league cup final next weekend must be absolutely dreading it.
they get a bye to semi finals of FA cup.
    CL draw extremely favourable
And only have liverpool and spurs who are known chokers and slip uppers in the league.

I can't see city letting this season be anything other than a total eclipse of 1999.

Spurs tried to field as strong a side as they could for all
cup ties last month, but it wasn't to be (although the Palace game
was an utter on-pitch formation shambles, not a squad issue) .

Even a touch of Spursyness at Chelsky (first season that the eternal
League Cup SF format was abandoned - Spurs win the tie on that
basis with the away goal) . Although with the current squad strength
Citeh would still have probably wiped the floor with Spurs in the final.

Listen to the PR media rhetoric?
Like how we should listen to strikers when they say they're not bothered about setting a goal scoring record as it's just "about the team at the end of the day", or how we should listen to managers when they say how they're only thinking about the next game up despite them resting key players for the current game to save them for later, or when managers say their team played well despite the loss but you just know they're getting slaughtered in the dressing room...the list is endless.

Pretty much anything said in the public eye is bollocks.

FA cup? Any player would sooner win the PL, CL or even Europa. The FA cup is nothing more than nostalgia from the older fans and media (well, BBC) who push it. No player under the age of 30 gives a toss about it compared to the big competitions. It doesn't hold the same appeal any more. A retired player from the 60s being an FA cup winner would be quite the hero. Doubt we'll see Walcott out and about bigging up his 2015 FA cup 4-0 thrashing of Villa any time soon until he washes up on Love Island or I'm a Celebrity.

It's a seriously dated competition championed by those with no realist ambitions of the big three comps. I work with a lot of kids in my job and I'll tell you now, not a single one has ever mentioned the FA or carabou cup. It's all about the PL and the CL with Neymar, Ronaldo and their daft fortnite celebrations. Maybe the Europa.

I personally think it's sad, but that doesn't change reality. Managers can say all their like to the press, but their team selections scream "not arsed unless we get to the semis or a rival team, then we'll have a little think about playing one or two big guns if we can risk it"

I'll bet you this. in 20 years time theo walcott won't be whoring round liveprool touting his everton days he will be in london touting his fame as a two time FA cup winner and Arsenal "legend"

I can absolutely assure you the europa league is a minor comp that nobody gives two ****s about bar the CL quali spot now

just cos kids are plastics doesn't mean that when the pedigree of players are talked about the medals won are the medals won.

not oh you qualified for the CL 4 times harry? stop slobbering on me harry... (and thats just in his 30s never mind the nursing home in harry kanes future)

You are right though... teams selections absolutely scream not arsed.

It's a classic soap opera storyline. EFC fans beg for a new owner for years then get a "billionaire" who turns out to be an incompetent #fraud using them for a property scam. At this point your best hope is you wake up and it was all a dream. Moral of the story is being poor but consistently getting 5th-6th wasn't so bad in the first place.

How can a fraud become a billionaire? Then be set to earn loads more after buying the Liver Building and milking UK and LCC for this redevelopment?

Yup poor defending by him. He's always been poor at defending (i have mentioned this lots)

Our biggest problem is shoehorning all these non creative midfielders into the side who can't play in tight spaces with vision for a pass or power to hold off someone and turn (something sarri wants), ball hogging wingers who don't make runs in behind (watch them drop in and wait for fbs to overlap) and generally having no one in the box.

Thought we defended okay (well more United have a better plan) and we limited their chances but we are toothless up front and no one wants to cross the ball or get in the box.

Your midfield is similar to ours last season when we had Gini hendo and can in midfield. They are all decent enough on the ball but none of them create much.

We got round it by being lethal up top but as you say you guys just don’t have that. Amount of times you get the ball wide and higuian is on his own in the area with 4 players round him. Hazard for all his good work will always stay wide and look to drift in and play a 1-2 or go down line and hit it low and hard across goal. Not much good when doesn’t have anyone to aim at.

As as others have said in media, none of your midfielders want to get up and get behind the striker and make that 3rd person run. Something Gini has been doing for ya more recently or something Ali does for spurs. As such you’re constantly just playing in front of the defence which is easy to defend.

Said last season that without hazard yoh guys you guys never look like going to score, and same is happening this season as well.

The main thing is our front 3 arent all dribblers who run and counter at speed (not in sarris tactics recently). He prefers to keep possession and our wingers and forwards arent quick enough or make the runs in behind. Willian can dribble but always has to do it by stopping and standing a defender up. Hazard can do it but doesnt have the break neck speed.

Your midfield plodders got away with it last year because those 3 are so good together and move the ball really quickly whilst we dick around with it at the back. Plus TAA and robbo are great at getting forward and supporting the attack. Alonsos good going forward but cant win his 1 on 1 battle (robbo can take his man on) and poor dave id average going forward.

Biggest differences for why we are toothless and you lot arent.

I have never seen Robertson beat anyone.... ever.

he need ball in front if him to run into then he delivers.

you lot are just all over the place. you do not know what you want to be.

blame the guys at the top not sarri.

if you appoint him what's your 3 year plan to become with him?

Ive seen robbo beat a man if they over commit (generally in your defensive area). What robbo can do though is give and go cause hes got the burst and top pace go get it back. Alonsos too slow for that. Plus alonso is deceptively weak, gets pushed off it so easily whereas robbo is tenacious and fights better .

I think sarri needs time and the personnel but hes stubborn and it wont surprise me if he gets the chop. He was getting booed last night and frankly he is partly at fault for perservering with something that blatantly does not work. You cant shoehorn jorginho, kovacic/barkley and kante into a central 3 as well as having your wingers drop in. Just stop us in the middle and drop deep and as a team we are toast.

I know nothing about Moshiri and therefore have no opinion on him personally. I have no wish to get in the firing line between you and astro, either, but that does seem a rather naive question.

Big Joe was the easiest to fool. Didn't even need the customary bribe or promise of a consultancy job after his mayoral term. Just needed a blue hat.
