Jovetic is an amazing player and will one day be the best player in the world, without a doubt. I had the pleasure of seeing him as a lad of 17 or 18 playing already as captain for Partizan against Zrinjski. Scored a hat trick and had a goal disallowed. Shame about his injury, he looks back and ready however.

Currently it's Ronaldo for me, but seeing as we can't choose him it would be Alonso.

As much as it pains me to say it, Rooney is up there as a top striker (however there are aspects to his game that I think are lacking). Suarez, Drogba, Villa and Rooney are the worlds best strikers in my humble and probably incorrect opinion. Tevez and RVP are up there. I don't think 3 games is a good enough indicator of skill for Aguero, he needs at least half a year to a year to prove himself.

Midfielders I believe are world class are Fabregas, Gerrard, Silva, Sneijder and Robben. Kaka was as well but his form has dipped over the last year.

Defenders - well Vidic, Pepe, Ramos, Pique, Coentrao, Maicon, Thiago Silva and Lucio.

On a side note did anyone else follow Suarez's career at Ajax? I started watching Ajax games simply to see him come in and dribble and run and score. I was delighted when the rumour broke, I was praying it wasn't just Sky making up some of their usual stories.

david silva has a better passing range than rooney, stop talking like rooney is the next paul scholes cause he really isnt, also david silva aint a striker so his heading and finishing would be worse, but look at everything else hes better at, linking up with play, crossing, getting past a man, speed, theres quite alot more also.

Secondly just cause aguero hasnt played in the premier league doesn mean he hasnt played at the top of the game, that just shows your ignorance.

    So ronaldo...

but serious answer i think falcao would do great in a number of leagues he has the ability to anywayz and we'll see this season.
also david silva has already proved he can perform in two of the biggest leagues in the world as has ozil, and thats not forgetting ozil is only around 22.

I happen to think casillas is overrated and still makes quiet a few errors.

    Neur is the best :)

I'm not sure that Silva is faster than Rooney, nor am I convinced that he's a better crosser. He is a better passer and dribbler though, without doubt and is a quality player. Pity we didn't get him when we were in for him a couple of years ago.

ok guys...... lets lose the bias.

Wayne rooney could prove a few things this year... of course england will always blow up in the end... utd already look the strongest team in the league.

    that said.....

i cannot believe everyone is ignoring the player who made inter tick in their treble and everyone wants wesley sneider! for em he's the best next guy out there and world xi or no the rest need to go some for acheivement AND skills to match him

In fairness Rooney has not been adverse to an impromtu version of Swan Lake on occasion himself <peacedove> Though Drogba has a more consistent approach! :emoticon-0106-cryin

Neuer makes quite a few slips as well tbh. Casillas has been the best in the world for me over the past few years - I think he's the first player to win World's Best Goalkeeper three times in a row. That said, he's still not up to the level of greats like Schmeichel or Kahn. Ok then, you've convinced me. I'll just have to go for Vidic as the best player outside the other four ;)

If we were talking 2 years ago, I would have said Gerrard but he's been injured too much lately to demonstrate his skill.

Some suggestions that nobody has come up with yet: Maicon, Pato, Pepe, Sneijder, Schweinsteiger.

There all world class. Sneijder you could possibly add to a world XI, cause he got Holland to world cup final. Maicon about 2 seasons ago, without a doubt, but not atm, although he is still quality. Schweinsteiger is also a world class player. But fabregas is better and Ozil is probabaly the best ATM you could get, after Iniesta. Pato has world class ablity and will be world class, guaranteed. If he proves it this season in the Champions league and league, he will would warrant a place. Pepe is quality, because Real madrid can sign nearly anyone, yet they stick with him, so he must be good.

    Casilas

    D.alves
    Vidic
    Pique
    Lahm

    Silva
    Fabregas
    Mascherano
    Ozil

    Jovetic

    Villa

That's my best side. Ozil, Fabregas, Silva, Jovetic, D.alves even Pique as a center half, all technically brilliant , the kind of players who control games, the type of players most fans pay to watch.

Easily Fabregas. I think he is already better than Xavi, maybe even Iniesta. You'll see what I mean this season and every season afterwards for the next 6 years.

"Honestly? A player that has it all in his locker and is yet to hit his peak.

    Wayne Rooney."

    <laugh>

Rooney isn't even the best player in the premiership. He's the most over hyped player this country has produced in the last 40 years. Yes he's big and strong, got a decent touch..But he's one dimensional, average in the air, no left foot to speak of. Watch him when he has the ball, he nearly always checks on to his right foot. His temper is a major failing as well, if he's not the center of the universe in a game he drops deeper and deeper to become involved, thus disrupting the team shape..Look at England on Tuesday at times he was behind Barry and Lampard.

Augero, Silva, Suarez and Tevez are all better forwards.

To be fair. I think this is a bit biased. I remember around 5 years ago, fellow Liverpool supporters like myself were talking about how "overrated" David Beckham was and how "he isn't truly world class". Of course you would be stupid to deny that David Beckham wasn't world class. Him being the prolific England captain and scoring free kicks 50 yards away from goal. My point is we do get carried away some times in belittling other teams.

Anyways back to the point I was making. If you actually see Rooney on a good day, its foolish to suggest the boy isnt world class.

If we feel the need to bring international form in to it. Look at Messi's international form. Or bring in our captain Steven Gerrard's international form. Kaka even struggled with creating chances for Brazil. Are you going to tell me none of these players were/are not class? Let me add Rooney is actually one of the better England players performance wise when playing for England.

I must confess Lampard at the moment is down the bottom. I rated him as world class a couple of seasons ago, he is slowing down now. I think any player would struggle in an England shirt and it's been this way for a good 10 years!

Still prefer Suarez to Rooney though ;). He works better with any team.

    Other world class additions:

Forlan | Villa. I would also take Iniesta out, though your welcome to strongly disagree with me on that one. I just feel he isn't as good as Xavi.

Ozil will become world class. He's not quite the finished article yet.

As for Rooney, I get the feeling that foreign players rate him very highly, same as they did with Scholes.
