    Football/society does seem to be on the verge of a large change in attitude.

    With this, the Sterling incident earlier in the season and more people getting caught and punished, the overall culture appears to be shifting to a slightly more tolerant one.

    I heard Tim Vickery comment recently that the death or the removal of football hooliganism in the grounds was more to do with real football fans having enough of it, than anything that was done by the Police or the clubs.

    In the aggressive environment of a football stadium, it can be very difficult for young drunk lads to know exactly where that line is. These two took one giant leap over it, but I’m ashamed to admit that at that age I often took the root of trying to be funny over the feelings of others.

    Ban them for a bit, make them apologise(whether they sincerely mean it now or not) and hopefully it will make them grow up a bit.

    Interesting that with the Sterling abuse, the Saint gobshite a few weeks and these two idiots that all involved seemed to be in their 40's or 50's, old enough to know better you would think?
    Name and shame them, then cut their knack@rs off?

    Whilst disrespectful i have seen far worse in probably every football ground that would be more deserving of a ban. Will the same standards be observed across the footballing universe..no.

    That's not how you should look at it.

    In stadiums abroad monkey chanting is acceptable. So do you think we should tolerate it here?

    Decide on your own moral outlook, and stick to it. You can't just copy others.
