Next Chelsea manager: 5 contenders to replace Maurizio Sarri

Gianfranco Zola Odds: 8-1 A Chelsea legend and currently Sarri’s assistant. Not a great track record given poor spells at West Ham, Watford and Birmingham City so more likely to be a stop-gap choice. Zinedine Zidane Odds: 10-1 Three Champions League trophies in as many years speak for themselves. Out of a job since leaving Real Madrid last summer but is not keen on managing in England, according to his agent. Diego Simeone Odds: 12-1 One of the most coveted managers in Europe and has performed miracles with Atletico Madrid given competition from Barcelona and Real. Could be tempted by a new challenge. Brendan Rodgers Odds: 12-1 A former youth and reserve coach at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho, has impressed since moving north to Celtic but former spell at Liverpool means he may not be popular with fans. Nuno Espirito Santo Odds: 12-1 Has enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League with Wolves but would be seen as a risk given lack of experience at a top club. We woke the beast. With our failings since City lost against the Geordies they’ve pulled their finger out. We’re there for the taking.

Is Sarri the worst loser since Mourinho?

It's not like he had any #legit reason to refuse to shake hands

I sometimes wonder if there is a mindset with some manages that they do not care if they do well as they will always get the payoff which at top clubs can be millions. Look how much Mourinho has made in payoffs, and Rafa.

TBH the way the other top6 clubs have gone about playing Citeh is an embarrassment for English football. They've all practically given Citeh the point before a ball has been kicked.

Don't think we should expect anything from games like today, its the mid-table clubs who have been Citeh's banana skins this season.

We just have to do our own job 12 games to play 12 out 12 is the trick. We cannot depend on others doing us favour.

It’s bollocks, the lazy excuse. If he oh are raised in the right way then you will be respectful of others. If you are raised by racists, people who rob,lie and cheat then you are more than likely to end up a racist yourself or doing time for being. Anasty bit of work.

We are all products of our upbringing and tend to take on our parents views when younger. It is only when you become an adult that you may alter those views based on your own experience. Unfortunately some thickos will give their kids a horrible example and if the kids are thick as well they will perpetuate it with their own family, and so it goes on.

In the age of the internet it’s much more nuanced than that imo. Upbringing and being given the right moral compass is of course important, but these days there’s so many echo chambers on social media etc that it’s much easier for people to be suckered into the beliefs of the far right. Once someone has shown any interest in the right, they’re targeted with algorithm driven software on social media and served with reams of far right bilge. The narratives of the Bannon inspired Brexit and Trump movements include tactics and words straight out of Goebbels playbook.

That was a woeful attempt from Chelsea.
I really think that teams shouldnt be allowed to get rid of managers mid season, they should be signed on minimum 12 month contracts that have to be honoured.
I think it is too much of an advantage being able to get rid anytime. Yes, i think sarri will be gone soon
    Very

yeah i agree wit that to be fair.

you take on a manager in the same way you do players its a risk, but then i suppose the argument is you can always drop a player, you cant a manager.

too much money at stake in the game i don't think fa etc will want to tell clubs how long they can and cant keep managers though.

    nice idea in theory.

Tbh i am just annoyed, i have had that stupid argument about best team wins the league **** again today.
    Proper hacks me off that

Someone was saying the other day that if spurs win the league it would be a better achievement than leicester winning it (think it was talksport) and people were going batshit crazy saying leicester was amazing yada yada
But i think i agree it would be spurs, i still hold with it that leicester just got lucky, no fecker wanted to beatt them, i am not saying that others let them win but no one fought them.
Look at the bile we have caussed just being in the race.
That season Leicester won it there was a game involving chelsea and spurs that was filled with passion, leicester did not have one game like that, we have got two oghose in the batch of six games.
Mark my words IF we win this and its a huge IF but we will have earned it massively waaay more than most as so many are out to stop us.
City werent even that good today thats what really brasses me off
    Proper on one today
    #meltdown lmao
