The difference in rhetoric from Sky pundits when we get a win where we had to dig in and scrap compared to the likes of United, Citeh or Chelsea in the past is staggering... Souness: They got away with one today Carragher: Eeeeeeeeem... Spursh weren't great today but dey got da win somehow don dey? If it was United and Co, the talk would be how that's a performance of champions and they found a way to win even if they had to grind it out. Pundits are so full of crap.
We were lucky to win that, up against 12 men all game and Michael Oliver should be struck off for another woeful (or biased) performance. Oliver did not award us a foul until the 52nd minute, he booked Son instead of giving us a penalty and gave Leicester a very soft penalty when Maddison fell over. Leicester played quite well but a lot of that was influenced by the referee, on another day we lose that game due to the referee influencing the flow of a game, thankfully today we got the points. COYS
Let's have a look at the Grauniad's match report, surely a paper which markets itself as the true, last bastion of independent journalism in the world will have an objective view on the game. Tottenham cash in on Jamie Vardy penalty miss to sink Leicester Oh
It's especially funny to watch the mental gymnastics they go through considering how many times they say real champions win even when they play badly I guess that means the club Sourpuss and Carryon used to play for aren't champion material, as they only win when the refs give them every chance they can...
I can only think of one worse refereeing performance in one of our games, and that was Chris Foy away at Stoke all those years ago, though there will undoubtedly be others.
The game will be remembered as a 3-1 win, nothing else. I just observe (as I have done in some of your other games) how easily the opposition carry the ball through midfield when in possession. Dembele needs replacing. Leicester looked quire useful in possession today; if they had had more to offer up front, they would have punished you.
Finally got a signal! That was a truly awful match to watch. Hugo was MOTM FFS, Sissoko & Son once again our best outfield players, and I don't know how they didn't score at least 3 in reply. But a win is a win and we are getting very good at winning matches again. Finally the disgrace that is a certain M Oliver, a couple of years ago he was a very good up and coming referee the transformation to useless twat who makes Mike Dean look competent was completed today. Not seen any replays but in real time he was just hopeless and in a weekend where Liverpool got yet another dubious goal, you start to really wonder if there is an agenda.
Oh if refs were as good as Nigel Owens at Twickenham. The penalty try he awarded England- a delight to listen to him explain his reasoning to the TMO. Can you imagine Oliver explaining why he thought Son dived? ( Hypothetical question , I know his answer )
Oh yes, thanks for reminding me (undoing all that therapy I needed to forget about it). That Foy performance really was something "special".
The Grauniad has had an anti-Spurs bias for years The fact they're pro-Chelsea does almost as much to shatter the myth of them being left wing as the fact they have Matthew d'Ancona write for them
Sorry but .... When we played you De Gea won you the match yet, while he got plaudits, United were praised for their tactics and determination. We are playing without Dier, Kane, Davies and Dele yet are grounding out wins against difficult opposition. Liverpool drew with Leicester, City lost to Newcastle and Watford have rum other top 6 sides close yet we beat all three while missing 4 key players. On top of this we were missing Lsmela today. We were not lucky...lloris did what De Gea did and Son scored a rashford style breakaway goal. The refereeing was a joke throughout... yet we won ... luck and Leicester's lack of attacking prowess is irrelevant imo. When we recieved 2 penalties at Anfield the press went nuts about it....even though they were clear ... especially the Lamela one...nothing will be said about the Son booking...absolutely nothing.
