My addiction is a little ott.... I started with city on the beta release, promoted neating fc gigamticus in the playoffs first aeason then gradually improved to win numerous leagues champions leagues etc.. Tho never the fa cup bizarrely. Retired my game in the 31/32 season and have now started a new game as gloucester in vanarama south, 6 months into my first season and managed to get to tje 3rd round of the fa cup where i was drawn at gome to cheltenham, fierce rivals, made nearly 100k from gate receipts etc which is about 18 months worth of my wage bill, basically set me up for the next 2 years.

Key to any fm version is to find the formation and tactic which the engine prefers, this one it seems to be gengenpress with 4-1-4-1 full backs set to wing back, dm as deep lying playmaker, wingers set as inside forwards. Do that and youll piss it

 

Does me tits in. This save ended up being sacked by Doncaster who were disappointed I didn't get them promoted from League 2, but kept me on anyways. Won me first few games of the season then soon as I drew one I got sacked.

After an MLS exile and a couple of playoff campaigns with Bristol City ended up with the job of steering Watford clear from PL relegation and ended up comfortably top half, swatting aside all (other than being ripped apart by West Ham.) Full of confidence for the new season, in November with 2 ****ing wins and about 20 draws. I ****ing never.

Thing is though, unlike previous versions, further up the leagues the computer gets wise to you. I've used a 4-2-3-1 when playing in the top leagues, but it has to be tailored to the opponent; it's good that the opposition reports are better as you can tinker and make it easier for yourself. If you plug and play a tactic, the computer works you out and you'll start losing to teams you thought you'd beat.

A handy feature I discovered was that if you load all the players from a nation, you can manage that nation. I loaded all the players from a country picked at random (using a website!), ended up managing Tajikistan. Got them to the AFC semi finals, good fun, although it would be easier if you had some control over the leagues as it doesn't half generate some dross.
