Every club has people like this - if all clubs were punished with closed grounds there'd be nobody watching live games at all. All the club can do is be seen to be condemning such actions and taking steps to punish anyone found guilty - which is what WHam are doing, isn't it?
closed grounds wouldn't work now days any way as most people watch games on tv. may lose a bit of money on gate receipts but tv revenues have made that not so important anyway. it would look sad from a viewing point of view though lol.
Sure, but the FA can only do so much. Punishing the club and banning the offender will not change society. I blame Brexit
it has certainly reared its ugly head again from the brexit result. society as a whole and all the government cut backs to the police forces have not helped, its ok though they are going to give themselves (mps) another pay rise!!!
So scholes is being allowed to take over at Oldham despite being part owner of Salford who could get promoted to the same lesgue next season. Because he only has a ‘background role’ in the club. Surely any involvement is a conflict of interest?!
Don’t notmally reply to your posts. Can blame government or police. If you are not raised the right way then you are going to be a horrible ****, maybe even racist. Always easy to blame police, Conservatives, Labour, Immigrants. Just stop bringing your kids up as dicks.
That's not really true though, no one has ever been born racist. In some cases, yes its the parents, but mostly its the newspapers, internet sites etc. they are paid to spout anti-immigrant crap to influence people's thinking. They make people think they aren't well off because of immigrants taking their benefits, stealing their jobs, ruining their NHS etc. When in fact the government themselves and the 1% are responsible for all these things.
They could start by acknowledging it even happened. They have investigated every other accusation of racism that's taken place in football. We even had a six week investigation into Firmino just because Holgate threw around accusations no one else could corroborate. Nothing from the FA when it's against Mo though.
N.a.... don't agree with this at all. Parents start your education both social and academical. They are in a position to promote and encourage it. Then yes maybe a bit of luck and resources depends on how good the areas schools are. If you are given even the most basic analytical skills you learn to challenge taking any of the sources you mention at face value. You are given confidence from your accumulation of knowledge to call bullshit on disinformation Media and politicians reinforce already held views more than create them. Obviously you can achieve this despite racist parents but ..... So for me...engaged parents and a good education will combat this crap far more than anything else.
Yes it would, but the parents have got it from somewhere. Its not as if one generation were born with a gene that made them immediately dislike or hate people of a different ethnicity to them. Whilst people are busy squabbling amongst themselves and blaming each other about the state of the country, the people who are in charge of the country and the majority of its wealth are getting away scot-free. Pretty coincidental, don't you think? Sterling highlighted a really important point about how people are viewed differently in the media depending on their colour or religion. You're trying to tell me that they are reinforcing already held views? Or actually they are shaping how people are viewed, and by extension the whole community these people belong to...
Got to say, Man Utd have been playing some great football at times here. Lots of one touch passing in tight situations.
The problem is that many parents are not in a position to educate their children in the way we deem adequate. Often they themselves were poorly educated and don't have the moral framework that we consider correct - and some of them are little more than kids themselves when they become parents. Look at that video that was posted recently of the kid reeling out racist and aggressive abuse on the way to a game - far too young to understand what he's saying, yet becoming indoctrinated with prejudices that he may never be able to shake. The sad thing is that his parents were probably brought up the same way, and the children we now take pity on will become the future targets of our condemnation. The real evil is educated people who do know better but who perpetuate and encourage these attitudes for control and self-gain. Ultimately the responsibility for social education has to be taken by society in general and government and the media are an important part of that. Newspapers like the Mail, Express, and the S*n constantly churn out their divisive bile because they know it will sell, and if the individuals who decide their policy have any moral compass at all it is submerged in the desire to make money. Some of the views they publish would have anyone else prosecuted for incitement if aired in public. Government policy towards them is mealy-mouthed because of the wealth and power they hold. The world is in thrall to Mammon, and morals come a poor second.
