Ah the dreaded jinx Chan!! One I think could run well is Chess Grand Master in 7.30 for Joseph.Even though he is running off top weight the step up to 2miles will suit and yard is in top form with another impressive winner today.I took a slice of 9/2 there as I would expect this lad to go off shorter come race time.
A cursory look through the Dundalk card leads me to the conclusion that young Joseph could have a rather decent evening. So I've lumped 4 of his (prices not great) including Ste's pick in with Nisior Donn (5.30 6/1) for a win super yank. Good luck anyone having a punt.
I see the BHA's chief executive was on Good Morning Britain this morning confident that this will last at most several weeks. Had they not acted as they did with their 'war room of vets' we could of been looking at 3 to 6 months. Some very positive words and to come out and say that on national tv is looking good so fingers crossed. I reckon 2 weeks maximum and we ''ll know more on Monday.
trying to spin the story , they don’t really know how it will pan out , as princess says , behind the scenes will be panic and pandemonium, until the picture becomes clearer , it must worry them that a new strain has evolved , which will obviously be a major problem , but fingers and hooves crossed it has been caught early and the cases are isolated , but like a lot of previous infections among livestock , often the damage has occurred before it becomes apparent ....
5.30 Dundalk I wouldn't normally be looking here for a bet but force is no choice. There is a fair old mix of talent and consistency levels here, with much of it being in short supply on both fronts. In the end I went for Billyfairplay because he is a bit of a win machine in the context of this race. He has found his form in his last handful of runs, even if getting thumped with a 17 lbs rise for trotting up a couple of runs back. Only 3rd next time, his Racing Post rating for that race gives him as running pretty much as well as he had done when winning the previous time. I would expect him to give another good account today. One question is the 7F trip, as he has been a 6F horse in the main but he seemed to stay quite strongly the last twice and he has more scope than several in this field. Kasbah could give a good account but doesn't win as often as I would like to see, so he'd be the forecast pick for me. Victorious Secret used to be higher rated in her earlier days but up another 5 lbs she may be pushed to pull off the hat trick against better quality opposition this time. Billyfairplay at 9/2 was my pick.
Oh well, second place but another good effort from Billyfairplay. Original fav was unplaced and Kasbah was also out of the frame. It's a tough old game to catch just right. Decent effort but couldn't give the 13 lbs to the winner.
I was sweating all day with the pressure Chan, glad he obliged!!Lucky last looks a hound of a race but Trump Card has some sort of course form so will have a wee wager at 4/1.
Chucked a few quid ew on the bottom weight Oromo @ 16/1. Very little to recommend the 15 times raced maiden form wise but a featherweight plus 7lb claim has to give it a sniff.
