    6.4. Options

6.5. The Committee agreed that the Council should explore at least four options at this stage

     Option 1 – Do Nothing

 Option 2 – Enhance the current facilities (either through partnership or directly)

 Option 3 – Redevelop the site – Council Led

 Option 4 – Redevelop the site - Football Club Led

Option 3 and 4 – Redevelopment of the Site – Council or Football Club Led

6.30. A high-level masterplan options appraisal has identified that it is physically and practically possible redevelop the site and provide the following uses:

o A performance venue of c.45,000 seats which could accommodate football and other sports

o A new athletics track, stand and other facilities

o Additional facilities that would meet the needs of Imperial College, the Thames Valley Harriers, Chiswick Hockey Club, Kensington Dragons and additional users such as through the creation of a skate park and outdoor play facilities o Create improvements to the Scrubs itself including improved leisure facilities which would also have revenue generating potential. 6.31. The capital cost of this option is higher than the other options – and is estimated at £159,000,000 for a simple construction and the external facilities. This could be funded either directly by the Council or through a partnership with an external stadium operator, e.g. a football club (option four identified above) or a combination of the two.

This would be great news if it happens. I can spend all my time talking stadiums rather than politics! :emoticon-0100-smile
Let's hope we don't miss the boat.
However it's always a good sign to be mentioned in minutes of a meeting

Reality is there’s no need for any more athletics stadiums in London

QPR could leave Hammersmith & Fulham in search of new stadium
    60shares

QPR co-owner Tony Fernandes fears the club will have to move out of Hammersmith and Fulham because they are not receiving enough backing for a new stadium from the council.

Rangers have spent several years trying to find a new site within W12 and their current favoured choice is to turn the Linford Christie athletics stadium into a 30,000 all-seater ground.

But no progress has been made and the council accused QPR in November of “playing property developer in White City”, adding that it would not “give land away for free”.

Now, Fernandes is calling on QPR supporters to join in the fight if they are to have a hope of staying close to their current Loftus Road home.

Speaking to the QPR podcast, Fernandes said: “The problem is if we have a council that doesn’t support us and doesn’t appreciate what QPR does for the community, doesn’t see how important the club are to the voters and to the community, then what do you do?

“I’m not saying we are going to move up to Doncaster, but we may have to move out of the borough. I have been really disappointed with the council, I’ve been disappointed with Greater London Authority as well.

“It would be [a shame], but I don’t want to lie and say we are always going to be here if we don’t get the right support.

“We can’t do it ourselves, the fans also need to have a voice. We sometimes feel lonely that we are fighting against the mayor or the leader of the council. We would love you [the fans] to lend us your voice.”

Great. <doh> I hope we don't end up in some soulless retail park. I would rather stay at HQ.

I think it's a gee up to try and get the fans behind the club and to try and put pressure on H&F.

With everything happening at Staines Town Fc right now I’m sure we would welcome the club here with open arms. I could walk to the ground :)

If we turn ourselves into Barcelona will they let us build a NouCamp sized stadium on Shepherds Bush Green?

Actually I’m with Tony on this one (though why is it him rather than Bhatia tweeting about it?), that’s a needlessly aggressive and ideological response from the council.

The response sounded a bit weird. The use of "put money mouth is" is not a normal council response. Is it legit?

The bottom line is H&F have had ages to put concrete proposals but have been less than helpful all the way through. On the other hand TF has seemed happy to pursue the property development side of things which makes you think are we just gonna end up the suckers in this battle.

I think it was about five years ago I said on here we would still be at HQ in ten years time and this seems to confirm that, in fact 10 years from now we'll still be at HQ...

I am coming to the conclusion that we may be stay at HQ for some time. TBH I would rather be in our run down shake than a soulless ground stuck to a B&Q
