This was the one that made me smile wryly. One of two things has happened here: a) Assem is bull****ing. b) OK, there's no need for a b) particularly given the timing up above highlighted by OLM, but are we to believe that a consortium of investors about to spend tens of millions of pounds haven't done a bit of due diligence that came back to them with: "Look lads, just say that he name won't be changed, bring back sensible concessions for kids, the elderly and the disabled, and maybe bring the half-time giants back and you won't have a spot of bother. In fact, this lot have lowered the bar so low for you lot that they've done you a favour." Either that, or the new consortium were considering continuing with the rebranding and concessions stuff (which is why the protests were a concern), in which case, good riddance.
No I wouldn't argue that Richard. I am not rabid anti allam. I have got past that stage. He has become insignificant to me. I do understand the alternative 'argument' put forward but it would be nice just to hear a little more challenge. At least that would help curtail the accusation that journalists aren't up to the job/are scared or whatever. There were a fair few pauses after he answered the questions but I wasn't expecting a challenge from Burnsy. And letting him talk in a relaxed manner whilst being recorded for broadcast is a point well made.
Or wider acclaim and honour for his philanthropic works? I somehow have the feeling City fans are not the only group to dislike dealing with the man.
Agree, decent summary by Phil Buckingham. Credit where it's due. But re. this ......" Allam has only underlined he will leave – whenever that may be – as the owner unable to command the acclaim that his contributions to City’s history should have warranted". It rather depends on how you view his contributions to City's history. I view them as an absolute disaster, taking everything that the KC move, the promotions through to & including 2008 brought, and near destroying it, as well as crimes against the community done in the name of 'our' club. He and his son deserve no acclaim, only contempt.
The only positive thing he has done for Hull city AFC is properly fund the academy and youth set up. Before he came to us with his "gift" the youth set up was an underfunded mess. When he leaves it will be the only thing that will be in a better state then when he turned up
Hilarious interview I don’t even think anybody’s been interested in buying us, probably asked for the price then left it at that, there’s no way their getting £50m they are in absolute dreamland and will end up losing the club for nothing, they know they’ve ****ed up massively in the previous talks but are too arrogant to admit it so blame it on militant fans. The dreamed up interest is just them trying to justify the ridiculous price tag they’ve put on our club, but in some warped way I think they actually believe their own propaganda and lies, very very strange people. Why didn’t Burnsy ask what the interest charged on their gift was as its obviously scotch mist Also why didn’t he state how much tv/prem money has passed through their hands and ask why they have no club assets to show for it Absolute joke, we’re stuck with them as their too arrogant to cut their losses and leave they’d rather cut their noses off, totally run down the club thinking they are doing a great job in the process
Yup As expected. The only real bright spot for me was Duffen's off the radar. Sure, I'd like new owners as much as anyone. Just not enough to want him back. But overall, completely as expected, and forecast, for interviewee and interviewer. I just find it all so draining and sad.
I look forward to fatty burns interview with paedophile councilor Stephen Bayes in the near future. FB: you've now served your sentence for a hideous crime, what do you intend to do next? SB: no I haven't committed a crime. I went on holiday for a bit. FB: so you did. Thanks for that, I'll check my facts in future.
Just seen the interview on Look North, ignoring the obvious (anything out of his mouth) the inability to park is obviously genetic
True to form Ass All (shorter name always better) was mendacious/mistaken in his very first answer. There was no winding-up order from the High Court in London. That, for a refreshing change on here, is actually an established fact. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Food bank visitors need to spend a week in Somalia or Palestine and see what its really like to have a hard life.
'G. Bennett...' The LN interview was cringeworthy.. Paraphrase……."I could have sold the club for the asking price, but turned it down, because the buyers had no money for player investment' Did I hear that right? If yes. FFS Who have the fans been watching for the past six months? if someone had told me Messi was in the team I might have turned up...
Crap post Bob. It's about context. You could say people in Somalia or Palestine should spend a week in Syria or Yemen to see what is like.....
