Weimann was clinical, scoring with his only chance on goal in the 90-minutes.
He had 53 touches in the game, which equalled 4.2 per cent of the total possession during the afternoon’s win.
Weimann completed 30 of his 37 passes, an 81 per cent pass completion, with one key pass- the assist for O’Dowda to add the decisive second.

He was literally everywhere - he must be on something - that energy isn’t natural!
2 goals wrongfully disallowed for offside too - in the Forest and Swansea games - he’s too quick for the officials.

Though it may be true that he could score more often, his work rate & selflessness for the betterment of the team as a whole is massively valuable. An absolute bargain.

Agree totally, I’m old school , stats mean not a lot to me, I prefer to use my eyes, he had a bit of a poor spell a while back , but for most of the season he’s been terrific , covers every blade of grass , if only the rest of the team spotted his runs, & the Linos were more awake, his goal return would be much better .

I have to say our recruitment last summer was immense. We may have lost 3 of our so called stars , but boy did we bring in some decent replacements,

And no new faces seen through our transfer window which must mean we have got something right. Let's see what our seemingly endless rebuild has brought us because from my eyes it looks good so far and long may it continue.

One of the most remarkable features of this season has been our points total against middle of the table teams.
During the last three seasons, we have got most points against bottom six sides as to be expected, pretty much held our own against top six teams, but have fallen down against middle of the table sides. I am sure JG will concur with this stat.

Who would have believed that this season we have beaten Birmingham,Stoke,Brentford,Swansea,Nottingham Forest,QPR away and without conceding a goal. In addition we have beaten Blackburn,Swansea and Hull at home.
These are all sides with aspirations for playoffs and at the least comfortable middle of the table teams.

Where we have slipped up is our ability to beat the bottom 8. Lost at home toPreston Sheffield Wednesday and lost away to Wigan and Reading...half our defeats have been v teams in the bottom 8

Our form against top 5, shows 1 win, 1 Draw and 3 defeats....

What sort of message does all these stats convey.

disagree based on being in bottom 6 at time we played them

didn't actually read on before replying to first bit but we did do fairly well against top teams, and got a few from middle teams as you say, However until last season I used to do a table, if I can retrieve any from my crashed computer I will check. It was based on after 10 games who took points from who, divided into top 8 mid 8 bottom 8, each 6 games after 10 the list was changed … in their best season Sheff WED TOOK ALMOST ALL THEIR POINTS FROM BOTTOM 16!

Agree unpredictable, however at the end of the [ any] season you could make a statement " we took points off the bottom x?" = they are teams that finished with x points from their 46 games!
" we took points off the bottom x?" = when they were there when we played them!
" we took points off the bottom x?" = as I did by taking the position of each team [ SEE ABOVE ] and keeping them in that position for the next 6 games [ eliminates to a degree in a tight league 1 team having 3 hard away games and equally difficult home as opposed to a team having 6 reasonably easy games !]

    the interesting thing with this table is top 4 average 54 goals [ / 29 = 2.03 GOALS A GAME ] 36 GA = GD 18
city could/ need in last 17 games to score 2.03 goals a game and finish on 62 GF AVG 1 goal against and …………………….!

    W L L D D L W W L L L L W D W D D D W W W W W = won 10 drew 6 lost 7 == 36 points GF 27 GA 22 GD 5
since we last played Blackburn we played 23 games [that's half a season! ] IT WAS A 4-1 WIN FOR US so expect them to want revenge
Incidentally we would be on 45 points had we maintained that form of those 23 games as opposed to 47!

this weekend we are on 15 home and 15 away games no matter what the result our away form is at least 1 pt better than our home!
had our home form as good as at least 6th best home form team we would be 4th!
