Awful, totally awful from Sevilla tonight to capitulate 6-1 after holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg. I know it was Barcelona, but in theory Sevilla picked their strongest team and should have come up with a better performance than that. Have they been training with Chelsea by any chance? Please someone knock Barca out of the Copa Del Rey as they have won it umpteen consecutive seasons.
https://japantoday.com/category/sports/japan's-yoshida-blasts-asian-cup-'stupidity'-before-final Maya disappointed with the standards in the Asia Cup..with questions about eligibility and UAE fans abusing the Qatari team. Also mentions in the article that Yoshi had to be restrained when he was slapped by an Iran player. We want our Maya back in the same condition as we sent him.
Luton must surely be the most exciting/terrifying club to follow in all of football. After a fairly lengthy spell in the First Division ended the season before the PL came into existence, they have been relegated six times and are en route to their fifth promotion. They have also made the promotion playoffs a further five times. Midtable might as well not exist in their universe.
Spent a freezing cold afternoon watching my hometown club Canterbury City win and are now in the quarter finals of the FA Vase. A pretty entertaining game saw Canterbury beat Leicester Nirvana 2-1 despite going down to 10 men when the ref tried to grab headlines by sending player off for a 2nd yellow for diving when it was a clear pen. Game played at faversham as Canterbury don't even have their own ground. Great achievement. I note fc sholing are also in the quarters after winning today. Interesting.
Not606 day out at Wembley for the final? All the southampton based not606ers with @Saints_Alive and the rest of us with @RedandWhiteManofKent
Bound to draw each other in the Q/Fs now!... If Sholing do get there again it will be great if they can get more than the 3,000 that went to the final last time..
3000, not a bad number. Have to say I went with a few mates yesterday and I was impressed. I went for the occasion and had not been to watch them for years. Was standing in the terraces with the Lord Mayor of Canterbury and fans old and young. Fair play to the fans who clubs like Canterbury, sholing etc are their lives. Supporters who do not support any league team but travel week in, week out keeping these clubs ticking over. There doesn't seem to be much to chase in the sense of success but there is a good spirit and unity that can get lost on bigger clubs. Might just make a few more trips between Saints games.
Canterbury v Biggleswade Sounds like a other trip to Faversham for the quarters. Another bonus, it's the home of the Shepherd Neame brewery. FC Sholing away to northwich victoria sounds difficult.
Yes, a famous old club with a good cup pedigree...mind you, they might be a bit worried if they read Sholing's match result stats... In all competitions it reads...PL 40, W 35, D 3, L 2, F 137, A 22. Since the last loss (in the FA Cup against 3 divisions higher Slough Town) it reads PL 28, W 27, D 1, L 0, F 101, A 14!!!! It's fair to say that it's been a pretty successful season so far!..
Quite partial to a drop of their Brilliant Ale myself.... please log in to view this image Cheers RAWMOK, good luck in the Q/Fs!...
