Huw Jenkins has just resigned as chairman of Swansea. Gotten used to having us see off managers - now we're seeing off chairmen too!
Good win , thoroughly enjoyable game , helped by Swansea playing football, well done lads. If we can keep this run up who knows . Soon a few injured players coming back , it will be interesting to see how Lee handles that. In the past that’s been a bit of an Achilles heal for him ( tends to tinker too much), hopefully he’s learned how to deal with it. COYR
A special mention for Frankie , he didn’t put a foot wrong, couple of decent saves , especially the one he pushed onto the post at 1-0, also seemed to be looking to release the ball quicker, which has been my main gripe with him . Also noticeable now he’s not trying to find Flint on the touch line, his kicking is much better too.
Really enjoyed yesterdays game, and tbh that bit of trouble sparked the crowd into a bit of life. Would of preferred it was done naturally but before it kicked off I felt the crowd was a bit flat. Why they moved the singing section so far away from the away fans is a confusing one. Let’s get this DaSilva deal done quickly to move onto the Kalas talks. I can’t remember a central partnership of the same quality as Kalas and Webster for years. And DaSilva on the left of them to me is so much better than LK. I remember someone critising Bailey Wright playing RB last season, but when he was moved back to centrally was when the team went on losing run. Yesterday’s game showed that the back 4 was spot on. I was going to say take Weinman off and replace with Palmer at halftime but shows that LJ has more faith than me. The reason why is I felt sorry for Patterson everytime he got in a position to pass no one was available. I would like to see a team with Patterson and Palmer play either side of Weimann as nothing stuck to Diedhiou yesterday. Imagine three energetic players coming at you with O’Dowda also in there as well? Also as Ashtonred says big shout out to Frankie. I wanted to compare him and Niki together on the current defence and I can say we are lucky to have both. What I did notice yesterday was Frankie was coming for crosses which I think let’s Niki down. But do like Niki’s calmness so it’s difficult to split them at the moment.
Interesting reading your comment on Weimann ROD - I thought he was arguably the best player in the pitch for me. I thought they all put in a shift, but if I was the manager I would have subbed Diedhiou a lot earlier. I thought he was struggling - his first touch was poor - maybe he was marked out of the game but he wasn’t really threatening Swansea - apart from one header attempt where he failed to connect with the ball.
