Hope Gyan does flourish off those chances as he is without doubt the most single minded player I have ever seen. If they go in fine if not questions questions questions.

Think we can get something...... wouldn't 3 be a nice tonic.

This but with Ricco at LB, we need one left footer in the team.

    What about this team
On the basis that o'Shea is fit (if he isn't then Bardsley)
and Gyan isn't (if he is then leave him on the bench)

    Mig
    O'Shea Brown Bramble Colback
    Catts Vaughan
    Larsson Gardner Sess
    Bentner

Left footers on the left and Geardner and Sess to fluctuate support to Bentner

Has to be the team. Like Bruce, everyone on here are setting up the team with the only intention of stopping the opposition. What happens when WE have the ball? We can have the most solid team around but if we're constantly giving the ball away, the opposition pressure will eventual get through.

Bruce sets up the team to counteract whatever the opposition are going to do, but his only thought to what we'll do with the ball is lump it in the general direction of the striker/s, if we happen to be playing any. How about we have players who can play off of each other, who can build an attack together and maintain possession and push the opposition backwards, a midfield with skill and creativity that can move forward and create some proper chances for our strikers and themselves?

I agree that Catts has great ability to break up play, but he also has great ability to commit stupid fouls in dangerous places, that we inevitably end up conceeding a goal from the resulting free kick. This has to stop, because in the last 2 matches he has been a liability rather than an asset to the team.

He was at fault for the mags goal against us and he was at fault at Swansea when he gave away a stupid free kick on the halfway line that almost resulted in a Swansea goal.

I like that team, maybe have Gardener in there instead of Larsson or Vaughan, but on the whole I quite like the idea.

I will be disapponted if we dont pick up anything. By chelseas standards they have been poor so far this season and for this reason i think we should go for the throat from the off. If we play 4 5 1 i can see a slow painful 1-0 defeat but uf we go for them we can score goals against them. We scored 5 against them last season so no reason to fear them.

How about playing Gyan in the role he played in the world cup?

    .........................Mig.....................
    bardo.....brown.......bramble....Rico..
    ..........................catts.............................
    gyan....larssen.......colback.......sess...
    .......................Bendtner.........................

Let Cattermole and Colback break things up and let Gyan, Larssen and Sessegnon terrorise Chelsea's Pensioners at the back.

You shouyld never nearly concede from a free-kick on the half-way line - certainly not Catts fault as the ball still has half of the pitch to travel. As for the Mags - Had we had a strong, well positioned keepr standing on his line he'd have caught the ball - besides when you campare the free-kick they scored from to half of the fouls they got away with it wasn't even a foul (Looked like Ameobi leaned into Cattermole and fell over)

If a free-kick is given away (especially on the half way line) you expect your defence to be able to stand up to it (obviously Beckham style players excepted) but to blame him for what happened against Swansea is looking for a scapegoat IMO - defence are to blame if Swansea nearly score from a free-kick on the half way line.

Not for me. Larsson is excellent and by all accounts Vaughan was fantastic in the first half against Brighton, running the show. That's what we need. We've had zero creativity coming through the middle from Catts, Colback and Gardner - lets have some attacking ability in there.
