It's snowing in London now mate. Although tbh, it's soft southern snow, not that nasty grim stuff you get oop north.
He wasn’t as dominant when dealing with crosses, against Palace, as he has been in other games. If Burnley put a lot of crosses into the box, and they probably will if Crouch is on the pitch, he will have to up his standards to where they were in previous games.
I live in Fleet, absolute blizzard here. I’ve been up to Leicester today for work, it actually gets worse the further south you get!
That's because it's designer snow, supplied by Harrods, lacking the coal and iron dust to give it that on trend light grey colour to co-ordinate with your grey paintwork.
I'd quite like to see us play a 4 - 2 - 2 - 2, But I imagine without the pace outwide from the WBS, We are limited. McCarthy; Valery, Bednerak, Vestergaard, Targett; Romeu, Pierre; JWP, Armstrong; Ings, Redmond.
Hughes abandoned three at the back in the first match against Burnley, where we hardly touched the ball in their half for the first 30 minutes. Remember Vestergaard winning a lot of headers in that game and being quite optimistic about his arrival. That’s been tempered somewhat since. Think we need to look at playering a back four against sides who may want the ball less than we do
It's a dilemma for sure and I'm interested to see if Ralph sticks or twists. I can see the logic either way. If it were up to my armchair managerial genius I'd try and go for a bit of a half-way house hybrid and have Romeu try and do a hybrid of his and Stephens job, then have the two CB's man mark the strikers when possible. PEH and JWP in the middle. Winning the second ball will be just as important as the first, and we did pretty poorly at that vs. Palace considering how much we were winning the first ball.
Not sure how we'll do today. My confidence was raised after some good results, but the Palace match showed that, although improved, we may still struggle against the lower sides...not a new problem, one we've had for a while. Ralph has produced massive improvements, especially in some players, but this still isn't fully his team....he's improving the old team by several % points. I have no doubt that we will be safe, but individual results are harder to predict. Seatbelts will still be needed. Bearing that in mind, I'm going for a win, draw or loss.
