Having had a month to " reinforce if the price was right" we now know the score, unless a last minute one will appear in the next hour! as sometimes happens!
IMHO I reckon City have played it safe! we have a good squad that could? take us into play off's maybe? then 3 games and we could then be in the prem! … lol
by not spending out a fortune on a possible "misfit" we have kept our powder dry and the team required for any new Prem club would be one that has been reinforced to do just that!
TOSS THE COIN … didn't bring in a £xx m player, who may or may not of got us into the PO's … so played it safe, still got our money and still got a chance....

Palmer is a good addition to the squad - and gives us something different

Semenyo deserves a chance - will be interesting to see how hew goes

Do you really think Semenyo is ready for this level? From what I saw in the Newport cup tie I think he at least deserves a chance at showing us his talent. The biggest question surrounding his return to the fold is will Lee have the balls to give him a run out and where and when could that occur? I hope we don't have to wait for a squad changing injury for him to get his chance at the big time because that would put him under some pressure, but I think he is more than capable of proving his worth. If he proves his worth to City then I have a feeling that he might not be with us for much longer and like many others before him the lure of the supposed big time will come calling. Good luck lad and if you have ambitions of playing in the Premiership then help us get there.

I think the line has always been that any striker brought in would be to act as backup to Diedhiou, so it presents a good opportunity to blood youngsters in. Obviously, if he gets injured, that's when our depth will be tested, but we seemed to do ok in the opening six matches he wasn't available for (eleven points won).

There is no doubt our team is better equiped and of a higher grade than this time last year, we have 2 players to cover every position and younger players on a pathway to enter the senior squad, the only glaring weakness to me is a consistant and prolific striker up front and god help us if our main man suffers an injury which is serious but the window is shut, so we go with what we have got, I'm happy with that.

What is now our ambition, LJ took over 3 years ago we were in 17th place from memory, so to date we have gained 10 places, so yes we have progressed , now are we aiming for play off success, a top 2 place or are we going to be content with a top 10 place, at the start of the season I would have been content with any of these 3, anything less and I will regard that as a failure but that is just my opinion.

this is our achilles heel ..although last 12 games have shown we can pick up points from the odd goal!

IT was the start of the second or third? "five pillars" ?
when although SC gave us success [ part of the plan ] we and especially him lost the plot … Enter LEE …
now in his own way SL did explain the time for "knee jerking" was over.. and it wouldn't be easy or quickly but the prem was the aim .
A lot of amoebic eerjits couldn't, because they have no patience or ability to see that the main picture was still being painted on the road to success and came up with their own juvenile attempts with an old tin of paint and mouldy old bed sheets to cowardly hide behind and make threats...
At some point [ vague memory] 5 years was mentioned... This I believe was when the eeerjit brigade over heated again and SL STATED lee has had his contract extended... I bet the eeerjits were wandering around in a demented state pulling out hair and swearing repeatably to themselves...………. :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:
I still think we need another season? we need to get on board with contracts to at least 2022 a core of 18 players, each with a sell on / sell clause / trigger .. we long contract players before and wrong time and misunderstood reasoning... now the players we would put in those contracts would all have a loan or sell on value, and be fair they would rather play than sit in reserves! ?.. I think we are in year 3 of a five, in 3 seasons time? pushing seriously for Prem OR IN IT!
