Sir, you are a very smart, considered and correct gentleman. I couldn’t have said it better, I wish I could have said it so well.
Vest vs Wood I’m not so sure. Anyway, don’t lose & that’ll be fine. And if Vest does see him off, he’ll then have the beanpole, Crouch
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2019...l-pre-burnley-southampton-premier-league-1819 Second part of Ralph's presser...worth a watch. Said JWP was a nice guy with good footballing skills, but he needed to show more aggression. And he told him that clearly. Not sure he meant real evil though Would only bring in a player if he could go straight into the team....have no need for squad players. Bertrand not fit enough for 90 mins yet and he won't be on bench until he is. Gallagher still in his mind and he nearly brought him on in the Palace game, but went for Ely instead. Lemina's op went well and he will be back in training in a few weeks.
In much the same way that pundits were saying that during the Saints v Palace game the other day that Crystal Palace were in midtable and Saints were in a relegation battle despite both teams being on the same points...I note that Lawro has said that one of the reasons Burnley will beat us is because they are unbeaten in the PL 2019...errrrrr. Are we invisible? Burnley may well beat us and they are in good form. But come on, there's only 20 teams in the PL. It's not hard to keep track of all of them, expecially when it's your job to do so.
Weather up here in darkest Teesside has taken a turn for the worst. Up to half an inch of snow! So I m wondering whether to set off now and wild camp at Blubberhouses. Or should I just drive down tomorrow like a sensible old geezer. I'll leave wild camping to Bear Grylls and sleep in my own bed. Just set off a bit earlier and take it easy. For those in the South who don't know what snow is, it's that white stuff that looks like dandruff.
I'd be tempted to go 4-2-2-2 in this game. Something like: McCarthy, Valery, Bednarek, Vestergaard, Targett, Romeu, Hojbjerg, Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Redmond, Ings.
How long is it taking for Berty to get back to match fitness, his rehabilitation is taking longer than pre-season We really miss him at both ends of the pitch
Assuming he learns not to be outjumped by players alot shorter than him, as seems to happen too frequently for comfort. If Crouch looks to get picked up by Vestie its a no-contest for me in that department, we would be in trouble. That said, l see us getting a point from this fixture. If we do play 3 CB's, Stephens and Bednarek are solid enough under the high ball.
McCarthy looked a bit off form to me....not as quick to criticise as some fans are, but even I'm beginning to worry. He used to look so solid....now he is making a few wrong decisions and flapping a bit. Perhaps he needs a break.
