Not sure we have a U23 team left to be honest Well we haven't got one this much older than 18 ... Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
While a lot of the youngsters appear to have gone out on loan, surely this gives others an opportunity to even sit on the bench and gain experience of what it could be like to be a professional. The players out on loan will hopefully learn from the clubs they are at, I am not sure whether Goss fits in with McLaren's way of playing thought. Also, Matt Smith, he hasn't done anything wrong as far as I am concerned - he was purchased by a previous manager who wanted to play in a different way than McLaren and therefore it would appear his days could be numbered. Hopefully a top 10 finish, sign up the players currently on loan to us and see where we end up.
I'm still hoping for a top 6 finish, but we'd have to be at our best for the rest of the season, and be luckier than we normally are with referee decisions and injuries.
Think it’s safe to say from today that they don’t think we really have a chance of going up nor down and the players leaving on loan will need to hit the ground running next season. Oteh could be our main striker next season.
Baptiste gone on loan to Luton for the rest of the season. Always thought he's a decent CD. Without him and Kakay (not confirmed gone yet), Angel still out, and Hall's fitness as rare as snow in Thailand, we look very thin at the back.
I actually don't miss TDD. I just turned SSN on and it's the same old crap going to grounds with nothing happening It's boring now.
Baps was very much Holloway’s man. Hopefully people we’ve loaned out can be brought back if we have injury problems
On a positive note, with Deadline Day over, at least some club won't go broke having let Redknapp blow their budget.
I’m glad we was not involved in any transfer dealings except our youngsters going out loan, you saw all the panic buying & high loans being brought in & what it costs the clubs, we have a steady bunch of players here that won’t get us relegated or promoted (well I doubt it) likes of villa, wba, etc failing to get promoted will cost them dearly, for once the embargo worked in our favour.
Doesn't look like it...…..Ive looked at squad and there are only 21 left who have played or been on the bench this season and includes Kakay. So SM is really relying on no injuries or suspensions and that Hemed, Rangel and Cameron are 100%!! I suppose he may include some U23s but surely they aren't near the first team. he can recall but surely no point loaning if that is going to be very likely. I see with the youngsters going on loan makes sense for next season but also worries me we are so skint we need to get rid of their comparatively small wages!!
WLS say we weren't able to loan Kakay though we tried. Phillips and Hamaleinen are likely to get loan moves to the US when the window opens there. We are going to have problems when the likes of Lynch, Leischner, Bidwell, Furlong and Angel are out with injury or suspensions.
This was a pretty good window wasn't it? Didn't lose Freeman, Luongo, Eze etc. Youngsters on the fringe of the 1st team going out to get proper game time, should bode well for next season.
well at least Steeve will have had a year to identify who he wants and who he doesn't, and who fits in with his way of wanting to play. Maybe we wont get the loanees to sign next season so the loaning out of current fringe players can only be a good thing.
