Statistics show we are the most unfairly treated team in the PL, and Man Utd receive the most unfair benefit https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45087444
No there isn't. Give a link if there is. I suppose you think that it was just a coincidence that last night: WRONG decision to not give red card was AGAINST us WRONG decision to not award a penalty was AGAINST us WRONG decision to give Leicester onside during their free kick was AGAINST us WRONG decision to give Mané offside during our attack was AGAINST us When was the last time a wrong decision actually benefited us? Because all these "mistakes" only seem to go one way.
I'm certainly not going looking for this crap and a lot of it is opinion, like I said I don't think it was a red card, the free kick looked onside to me but I'll have a look again the other 2 I agree with. Salah falling over in the box last time around went for us.
Did you not mean City as the luckiest or benefitted most from decisions (according to that article) ? This is so absurd and simplistic. So if a goal is scored in the 63rd minute the match will finish 1-0 instead of 0-0 ? haha. Let me tell you that some team will chase a result. At 0-1 the match could also have finished 1-1 or even 1-2 as the equalising team suddenly has momentum and belief. How many times have we or other teams equalised and gone on to get all the three points after falling behind? could any panel have expected Newcastle to beat City after going behind in the first minute? can anyone have foreseen a draw after we went ahead so early? Ridiculous and simplistic. But it is a bit of fun not to be taken seriously except if you are paranoid
This is because these wrong decisions affect you/us whilst any other wrong decisions you take in your stride or you don't notice as it does not affect us or our team. This applies to fans of all teams who all feel they are victimised.
Difference is other fans don't have an independent study that shows that their team did in fact receive the most number of wrong decisions affecting their games
No, Man City got 100 points when they "should" have only got 97 points. Still deservedly top but by a slightly different margin. Man Utd have the biggest positive difference between where they actually finished and where they should have. We had the biggest negative difference. Football is difficult, but there is always a "correct" answer according to the rules of the game. If you don't believe this let's get rid of referees and goals completely and just have a panel of judges deciding who "deserves the points" like in boxing. Once you accept there are correct answers to whether someone was onside or not, then the statistics are very clear; LFC get the most wrong decisions affecting them than any other team in the PL. #endof You can disagree WHY this happens. Just incompetence and bad luck? I think it's clear that referees regard Anfield as somewhere they can show they are tough by standing up to the Kop i.e. not giving us decisions even if we deserve it. This was especially bad with Suarez who was seen as someone you could get away with not giving a penalty even if he was literally kicked up into the air like Webb demonstrated. But you can't disagree that it actually happens, it's a statistical fact.
I just did an independent study and Jaffa Cakes are in fact better than Chocolate digestives. Until you add the tea dunking variable and then it's the reverse.
This is an unpredictable game with unpredictable outcomes reduced to ridiculous predictions and "differences between teams finished and where they SHOULD have" by a panel of so called experts. The most ridiculous statement was from that referee on the panel: "The results demonstrate the impact and importance of refereeing decisions on a game" Oh yes? Blimey we never could have imagined that the referee decisions could be so important. Thank goodness for that "study" now we know that their giving a penalty or not could affect the game. If it hadn't been written and read it I would have disbelieved any sane person could have uttered these imbecilic words never mind an ex referee.
It's specifically about mistakes by referees though. Even before this study confirms it, we all know Man Utd are more likely to get a penalty they don't deserve than we are to get one we do actually deserve.
You can look at refereeing decisions and whether they were correct or not. However I think it is very dodgy ground to extrapolate the final result from this. If a "wrong" decision was made in the first 5 mins say and led to a goal, you have a very different football match thereafter.
When Salah is fouled and fell it's call a dive. When Kane is fouled it's call foul. Player stepping on the foot of Keita is minor, so no foul. Player stepping 0n the foot of Kane, yellow card for the player.
I know you get mocked all the time for your views, as you have here and in fairness, sometimes you do bring it on yourself, but I actually agree with what you've said here.
