Which club is best at promoting youth ?

What is it at Chelsea that stifles youth players ? When Maureen was there I thought it was him, but it seems that all of your managers seem to disregard up and coming youth talent.

 

They don’t have an identity for it mate, looks like Abramovic just hoovers them up to flip a quick buck on them.

It’s not a terrible financial model but they will inevitably lose a lot of top players doing it.

 

They don't seem to do it so much now, but there was a time around 2006-2012 where they would just buy up all the emerging talent to stop other PL teams getting them, and then loan them out because their squad was so big.

Chelsea currently have 39 players out on loan, but a large number of them are club or associated-trained players aged under 23 or 21 and 20 of them are currently playing in England.

 

Ridiculous amount, should be a rule put in place.

Owner is a bell end who would prefer to spend £100m on some marquee signing, and even if he flops, he will instruct the manager to persist with him, rather than use one of the numerous, suitable youth prospects we have waiting in the wings.
So inevitably the youngsters get annoyed and decide to piss off elsewhere. At least we have finally clued on to buy-back clauses now and have started insisting on putting them in the sales contracts, would have been useful for De Bruyne and Lukaku.
