    No match thread ?

Anyway, we made hard work of that tonight and we could have easily have been 0-2 down at HT. Cardiff had a ton of chances, but could not finish any of them and we were very lucky to go in at the break level. We suffered from the same approach that cost us against Utd at home, slow play up to the oppo 18 yard box, congested by the time we get there, looking for the intricate pass and overplaying it and losing the ball, which puts us straight on the back foot.

We were better in the 2nd half but still struggled to break Cardiff down. It was only when we got a pen that we finally managed to play some better football, but once again we conceded and looked shaky at the back, against a team who hadn't managed to score a single goal in their previous 4 games.

We go to the Etihad on Sunday and although City lost at Toon tonight, I'm expecting them to be much better against us. Hopefully we will have Koscielnly back, and Emery needs to start Ramsey ahead of Ozil if he's going to use them in the same position. We might have Denis Suarez available for the weekend, so that could give us an unknown edge. But we are going to have to be a lot better than we were tonight, otherwise we could be on the end of another spanking.

Not looking forward to Sunday. Not with last night's defensive line-up and the fact that Guardiola will be looking for, and will probably get, a strong reaction to their result at Newcastle last night. Still, it's football.....

Another insipid and uninspiring performance, a wins a win but............ Doesn't instil me with confidence for the Man City match.
