As said, I think we'll probably get 2. Likely Ridgewell (or someone of that ilk) and Woodburn. In reality, not good enough of course, but if we don't sell, overall, that will do me (in known circumstances). I trust Adkins to work well with players, so he'll probably bring out the best from the new kids - whoever they are.
I think our treatment room must be at full capacity now surely. Weir has one bench with a ‘Reserved’ placard.
I was commenting on you being overly critical to negative voices, by explaining why I think people are . We had the traditional claim of the owners backing a push for the play offs (traditional in the sense of it being a pre window owner support story, rather than play offs). Relying on a Cardiff player and then having no other CB options to quickly target if that fell through doesn’t smack of that. Pugh is a good signing, and yes Wilson was a last minute one which came very good. However I was honestly saying what I often think, and that is that leaving things last minute saves cash and Ehab might like to pat himself on the back about that. I have no evidence of that, just a feeling, although we do seem to let go early and spend late. I’m fairly relaxed because I don’t care whether we go up, and we look safe from going down, but the CB state is so bad that yes I do think we should have got a quick one in, even if they weren’t great and we got a better one in the last 48 hours.
TBF we moved quick on a CB and he was here plus passed a medical etc at which point we most probably pulled interest in others we where looking at. Cardiff then pulled the plug at the last second due to thing out our control. From that moment we then had to start again.
hull-city-turn-french-clubs-attempt-sign-midfielder-january https://www.football.london/reading-fc/hull-city-enter-race-reading-15751672.... another winger.... whooooopeee..!!! https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/football/live-hull-city-qa-transfers-2482396
Harry Wilson obviously turned out to be a great signing, but he wasn't actually the target we wanted, we only got Harry because Rolando Aarons turned us down on the final day. We're unlikely to be that lucky twice.
Thanks Dennis for saving me a fair bit of typing. How anyone can try to defend, excuse or rationalise the shambles, the lies, the incompetence, the **** storms we see time and again, is beyond me. As others have said, one of the frustrating things is that, with just a little investment and competence from the Allams, we really could be genuine play off contenders. Time still to be proved wrong, although the strengthening should have been early in the window, not in the last 36 hours. Still, this repeated shambles is nothing compared to what's almost certainly coming this summer. Oh there I go again being negative .... or just honest and realistic .... and incredibly frustrated at what is happening at 'our' club.
Shall we start a new thread entitled 'who will walk away free in the summer?'... Maybe OLM has a list of who is OOC.
First Team Squad 2019 - Campbell, Fraizer (Plus 1 year option) 2019 - Evandro 2019 - Henriksen, Markus 2019 - Kane, Todd (Season long loan) 2019 - Keane, Will 2019 - Marshall, David 2019 - Mazuch, Ondrej 2019 - Weir, James Development Squad 2019 - Andrew, Charlie (1st year pro) 2019 - Burton, Callum (Plus 1 year option?) 2019 - Chadwick, Billy 2019 - Curry, Adam 2019 - Hickey, Jordan2019 - Holmes, Elliott (1st year pro) 2019 - Mannion, Will (Plus 1 year option) 2019 - Powell, Tom 2019 - Ritson, Lewis 2019 - Salam, Ahmed (1st year pro)
Don't wish to be over optimistic but this really isn't that bad this year, and I suspect no worse than a lot of other clubs are facing. Would like to keep Fraizer for another year and sign Kane. Love Evandro but reality is we'd probably only get half the games at best out of him, and nothing I've seen from our captain makes me think he is a hard act to replace. In fact if keeping him for 2 more years reduced opportunities for Batty to develop, would be disappointed. And I think Long would be a capable replacement for Marshall.
That pair of (insert expletive of choice) will not be spending any additional money. Good housekeeping and all that. Just **** off please.
Like others it's not really this window I'm worried about , we shouldn't get relegated now it's what will happen in the summer . Maybe even Nigel will get offers elsewhere and think about going to a club where the owners will back him Sorry , off-topic to signings coming in , but not about cars
I don't get how anyone can justify constantly leaving our transfer dealing to the last minute, yes it can come off, but the chances of us pulling off some excellent signings is unlikely. We have dropped points to Villa and Blackburn that could have been avoided if we brought our defenders in right at the beginning of the window. We need two centre back's, anything less is a poor transfer window. It's quite straight forward.
