Of course owners try to make money, so the best you can hope for is owners who treat the club properly, and treating them like a serious business run by professionals (like FSG) is at least better than treating them like a plaything for your ego or a political tool for other business interests (like Moshiri). Moshiri doesn't have the football expertise or disposable cash to improve Everton. Abramovich doesn't have the expertise either but was relentless throwing money at the problem, but that's finished now due to political restrictions. Arsenal also have a #fraud owner so we can expect them to drop away like Everton have been doing over these years. City famously are just a propaganda tool. This is why despite their unlimited funding and recent success their fans are dropping away.
Horrible club is City. Regeneration of the local community is shameful, they should take their money and be gone. Why focus on that when you could help run down an area and let fans pay for the improvements you have made that will profit members/share holders
I remember reading that even with the improvement in your commercial income [which surely must be a minimum requirement], the gap is widening with those around you. The whole of your commercial income is roughly half of our shirt sponsorship. As I said it's a worrying time for Everton. I don't call the owner a fraud but he doesn't seem to know what to do next.
The gap to who, United, City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea or to clubs that we are competing with to break the top six? Moshiri was quite clear, he is taking a mess and trying to improve. He isn’t going to go out and make £300m for six years shirt sponsor deals next week, but he has got the people in who can start to move forward. He is using the club as a driver for gain in development, it doesn’t take a genius to see that. But why not, the stadium will be a key feature in the project and give a focus. He admitted he made errors, so got better people than him to run the football side day to day.
The gap to where you aspire to be - the 'top 6' plus Leicester and West Ham. The bit in bold - I don't actually know what that means. One thing I will say, I think you were spot on when you were saying the new stadium was linked to success in gaining the CG. Had Liverpool got them, a new stadium would likely have started by now. I would love to see the docks developed with a stadium front and centre but it's looking less and less likely.

So: a) developing a club take time. (evidence is all around us, city took 4 years to get it close to right and are still developing, spurs, even cheslea over time, LFC...) b) Patience is in short supply these days. IF we look at LFC errors FSG made thus far never mind the crazy stuff thats gone on at city. a) Appointment of Dalglish permanently. (they obviously didn't want him) b) Comolli and backing to buy certain players like adam and carroll. c) Appointing rodgers d) sacking rodgers staff and not him (though it worked out well in the end e) allowing a transfer "committee" decide things and creating a power struggles where **** players were bought as compromises.. culminating in BALOTELLI f) pissing off fans with ticket prices. If you think about it, the stuff everton has done isn't that bad, are the 3 years into their learning? FSG were 5 before they stumbled into klopp. For balance however: FSg did these things right: a) commercial expansion of markets b) re-branding digital platforms and making money esp in far east from TV. c) greatly inflated sponsorship and shirt deals d) Scrapping the Stanley park white elephant and doing a " respectful" job on anfield expansion (even if the second part hasn't happened much to our annoyance) The profit from the 120million or whatever invested is so high its driving huge revenue for the club already. (virtually paid off) e) biting the bullet on melwood and investing wisely in the facility at kirkby while paying for it out of melwood redevelopment. For me the last two points will stand to LFC for decades.
Easy to say and easy to be critical of the guy now. Ballbag, ive no time for him but i think we all agree that mourinhos touch with players has gone.
I must have missed all the trophies and photos of the open top bus tours around WHL over the last 4 years or so. Mauricio Pochettino says Tottenham are a victim of their own success https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47046649
When FSG took over we were in a mess. They promised to remove the huge debts and have us financially sound, they've done that. Losses were turned into profits and commercial revenue continues to grow. They wanted to win trophies. We've been in the final for every major domestic and European trophy, winning one [hardly their fault we didn't win the other finals we reached, but we reached them nonetheless]. They wanted to be able to attract the very best players while having a good wage structure in place - Salah, VVD, Alisson, Firmino would get in any team in the world and our current team on it's day could certainly beat any team. They promised to listen to the fans and retain the culture of the club. They've done that by redeveloping the ground, not moving, and listening e.g. when fans protested the ticket price hike. Overall they've delivered on their promises. Yes, as you say, they've made mistakes but have come in with a plan, tweaked it and are delivering on it. Our league finishes have been all over the place - not their fault - but everything they do have control over has progressed almost from day one. There's a sharp contrast over at Everton where, just as one example there doesn't even seem to be a player buying policy.
but is that not a bit harsh given you might put thier development at 2013 type levels compared to us now on into our 9th year. didn't Everton have debts, didn't.kenwright say the banks said no more loans? didn't we buy balotell I and benteke based on compromises? isn't it possible Everton will improve over time and get more things right?
Moshiri wasn't supposed to come in and replace the previous ownership like FSG. He was supposed to provide additional funds for the squad and stadium. Instead he's wasted the Lukaku and Stones money, refused to invest in players, and can't get funding for the stadium. #thatwentwell
So I am now hoping for the straight red for Fernandinho No idea which is more likely a Newcastle goal or the red lmao
