Not only did I name Winks, my spread betting company gave me £10 in promotional money and as I was looking to see what to do with it I spotted player goal minutes for Winks at 3-5. So I bought that for £2 meaning my maximum loss was the £10. Since he scored in the last minute it made up at 90 so made me £170! @Dier Hard I should buy you a couple of drinks really as your constant carping about Winks was part of the reason I chose him.....
Disappointed? Yes, of course. Disheartened? No. Disgusted? Of course not. And hopefully not discordant, either….. as I try to look ahead, and place recent events in a broader context. Not without some criticisms of the way things have been handled, but always trying hard to look on the bright side. So here’s my take on the current situation, and my prediction for Wednesday night. Indebted to Paul Young for this song: "Love Of The Common People" (originally by The Four Preps). Love of the Tottnam People Living on Levy’s budget, Money’s very tight - And you know it’s the truth - And a hard truth, too - What can Poch do, hmmm? Tears on the social media! Crying because we haven’t signed A player who’s a catch For the midfield, we know, But you know we’ll not cry……. They’re both praying for The love of the Tottnam people - Smiles from the hearts Of the Tottnam fans. Danny's gone and bought us A dream new stadium; Poch is gonna please us Just as much as he can…. (And he can!) It seems as if Sissoko is back now (He’ll burst through midfield Like a rocket and then lose it!). But now Alli’s struck down, Harry Kane's not around To do the job. Tryin' to keep our good form When we know that it’s true Our resources are few, Our reserves are unknown…. Somehow we’ll bring the points home Through the storm! They’re all playing for, etc Winning every game ain't easy But the truth, I’ll admit: These players won’t quit: We’ll win home or away! Now we’ll take 'em in (our) stride, This Elton John side! (I have the faith And imagination!) With an Eriksen goal And a Skippy sensation! It’s just the way we play! We’re stayin’ up strong Where we belong! And they’re/we're keeping all etc Yes, they’re/we're keeping all etc Keeping all etc Keeping all etc Prediction Spurs 2 Watford 1 Scorers: Eriksen, Skipp Cheers, Spurf!
