What outcome is for the best on Tuesday night ?

    a) Luton win ---- they'd be 9 pts plus gd ahead ( 3games in hand) Assume their run continues and may be uncatchable ---- keeps Pompey 4pts away (2 g i h ) and to play at home.
    b) Pompey win --- Luton 6pts (3 g i h) Pompey 7pts (2 g i h)
    c) Draw ----- Luton 7pts Pompey 5pts

I suppose a draw makes them both catchable. Of course it's up to us to win our games. Ideally they could each have two sent off, and their main goalscorers catch a 2month bout of flu. (wouldn't wish a nasty injury on anyone)

Luton win, they haven't but a bad patch yet and are due one, we've had our since Christmas and Pompey are having theirs at the moment.
Nine points ahead isn't uncatchable as there's a long way to go yet.

The way I see it, a draw is a total of 4 points dropped, whereas a win for either is a total of 3 dropped, so a draw has to be favourable for us at this stage. No point trying to predict how either of them will get on in future, anything could happen between now and end of season.

Yeah I would go for a draw but whatever, we need to just concentrate on our own games. Win the points take care of themselves. Remember we are 5th now. Other teams are catching

A draw would be best but like has already been alluded to Luton surely have to hit a bad patch sooner or later hence I think Pompey may just sneak it.

Luton to beat Portsmouth is best. Portsmouth have to play Luton, Charlton and us away. home to Doncaster, Barnsley and Peterborough. - Luton's toughest game is Charlton away. - Barnsley have us as their toughest home game left, away to Portsmouth, Doncaster, burton. I would say Luton will win the title then with SAFC strengthening then us or Barnsley for 2nd spot. Portsmouth have a fixture pile up and 88 - 92 points needed to go up, maybe the highest ever for 2nd place. In fact just checking my rothmans/sky year book (the bible of football) Blackburn finished 2nd with 95 points last season !, Luton finished 2nd in league 2.

Fair play to Luton the gaffer leaving hasn’t even wobbled them, with Barnsley losing opens it up again for catching Portsmouth, Luton seem to be destined for it, great story as well.

They deserve it after the **** they’ve had.

Be funny if they go up and Jones ****s it up at Stoke!!

They’re yet to hit a wobble. Portsmouth and is have both had them (having). If they don’t then they’ll run away with it undoubtedly. Happy with second

Pompey equalised! Awful first half and bbc said it could’ve been 4-0 to Luton at half time. Cruel game football

Won’t be funny for me, I need Stoke to get promoted with us and MK Dons, and City to win the CL for 22k on a bet that’s been running 6 month haha
