Think West Brom have a fa cup reply, didn’t they draw with Brighton today?

    Same for Boro.

Don’t see us winning the league, but second is still possible. I still think that our defence is not strong enough and with very little, or no investment expected to cover for injuries, can’t see us getting much at Leeds next week. Are the injuries weakening the team? Hanley seems out of favour or is he still injured?

I would really, really, really get an experienced defender in on loan before next saturday or we could blow this!

I'm pretty relaxed about our position at this point of the season and our recent results.

As the season goes on our fixtures seemto become more appealing than the teams around us, not that there's any easy games in this league.

Last time we played SU we lost and were at our lowest point in the league, 20th.

I suspect we will start picking up more points per game after the leeds game and if we beat leeds who knows.

3 academy players and 2 free transfers in the back 5.

    Remarkable really

Klose will be back for Ipswich

Keep the faith folks, excluding the Derby result & the floodlight saga, we haven't lost in the Championship since the 6th of October

Today is the first time we've conceeded more that 1 goal in a game this year and with an incredibly young and inexperience defence.

    Few pointers from today:

    1. Godfrey is NOT a centre back!!! Poor positioning, very weak in the air and bullied by Madine (and Sharp) all game. Can't wait to have Klose back!

    2. Subs were needed FAAAAAR sooner then they were made! 2-1 up and we were sitting deeper and deeper, 2nd to every ball, and hoofing it because we were too tired to control and pass! Fresh legs were needed 20mins before he actually decided to change anything! As good as he has been for us, he has blown it for us today with his unwillingness to make subs. He said we were comfortable when everyone in the crowd could see we were inviting pressure and that an equaliser was inevitable!!!

    3. Jordan Rhodes has one of the best goal records in EFL history... is he ever going to get more than 5mins on the pitch!?!?!?!

That finish from Pukki is unbelievable.

Have to agree that he still needs subbing for Rhodes earlier though.

Fans around were wanting subs from about 70 minutes and it was us that obvious that some of the players were struggling.

Have to agree with all of that Bedford. Godfrey can play as a CB, but being 6'0" tall, he will struggle against tall strikers, as was the case with Sharp's second goal. He has other advantages in terms of mobility and playing out from the back.

As for subs, Buendia was bound to tire coming back from a dead leg and Pukki has played a lot of minutes this season.

    Also agree about Rhodes.

At the end of the day, it was a tough game against a really good side. It was nice to see a team come and play their game rather than just kick us off the park, which seems to be tactics adopted by other teams other the past month.

From the clip I saw it was Zimmermann who lost Sharp not Godfrey. Are you saying Zimmermann isn't big enough !!!!!

Reading between the lines from the match reports (I couldn’t watch as there was no stream), it feels like yesterday Farke was out-tacticked by Wilder: we played brilliantly for a few moves and scored some wonderful goals, but Wilder set their hard-working team to disrupt our rhythm and take advantage of our defensive weaknesses by not allowing us as much of the ball.

That counts as two points dropped for me, but no disaster and we need to learn, especially defensively (which I know people on here have been shouting for for months).

We do need to show improvement rapidly there as I think in the PL we will get destroyed, even though attacking-wise I think we are at PL level.

Agreed, Zimmermann was at fault for the goal. However, Godfrey was bullied all game by both Madine and Sharp. He lost EVERY duel he went up for. As a result Lewis was left back tracking time and again with the winger or Sharp chasing onto flick-ons. Zimmermann didnt lose the aerial battle, his man evaded him... which is bad, but he wasn't CONSTANTLY beaten.

Godfrey has a lot of good attributes but his aerial ability and defensive positioning are not up to scratch. Imo if we are to get automatic promotion, we need a proper, experienced CB there. This is why i cant wait for Klose's return!

Having now seen the highlights, you're quite right about it being Zimmerman, Canario, but Godfrey was marking Sharp until Maxine went off. I like Godfrey a lot, but I still worry about his height at CB.
