Nothing new, but l simply want explanations. If indeed we are about to sell Grant, can someone explain the logic behind the argument of selling him at this point in the season? We are in with a chance of promotion; albeit a slim chance through the play-offs; what club in their right mind would sell a striker; one who is somewhat responsible for putting Charlton where they are at the moment, and then have to hurriedly acquire a replacement before the window closes? Assuming RD is behind this, even from his perspective, surely he must see there is nothing to gain from continuing with this proposed course of action. We sell Grant for a fee; but then we have to fork out sums to buy a replacement, so there is no financial gain that l can see. Surely Bowyer has spoken with the owner and explained to him that there is no advantage in selling Grant in this window. However, once we know whether or not we are going to be in the championship next season, then l agree a decision could be made at that point. In the bigger scheme of things; l cannot understand why Grant would wish to leave the club until the outcome of our season is known; and to want to go to Huddersfield, a team that is going to be playing in the championship next year is beyond my understanding; will They really be offering him so much more financially to make his move a viable one, as opposed to staying with Charlton until the end of the season? I know there is no loyalty with players these days, but the current situation regarding Grant is just too silly for words.
It's simply down to the way Duchatelet sees things. If there is a couple of million on offer for Grant and RD decides he wants that money, then Grant will be sold. What Lee Bowyer might want will not come into it. (and what Charlton fans might want certainly does not come into it of course). Bowyer might think he gets on well with Roland, but to Roland Bowyer is nothing. An employee like any other who will do what he's told. RD must smile at the fact that Bowyer doesn't even take little side-swipes at him in interviews, the way some of his other managers at Charlton have in the past. He must be very pleased that he has found such a loyal and doggedly obedient soul to sit in the hot seat at the Valley. The Belgian doesn't care about chances of promotion, or selling the Club.
Like another 12 of our players, Grant is out of contract this summer. He’s also not very good. This deal was a No Brainer. The big question is what % if any Bowyer gets of the Grant fee to reinvest.
A quality loan striker would be better than a 6 month contacted Grant. PS- Matty Godden was absolute sh1te for Peterborough yesterday
Any striker coming in on loan now is an unknown quantity. He might get 15 goals between now and May, or he might get none. Karlan Grant has scored 14 League goals in 28 starts. That's 1 goal every 2 games. No reason to believe he will not continue with that scoring rate if allowed to, thus probably scoring 22 or 23 league goals by the end of the season. We will be replacing a probable 7 or 8 more goals (from Grant) with complete uncertainty. Will a new striker form a good partnership with Taylor? We don't know. But we do know that Taylor and Grant play well together (in terms of goals scored at least). And Grant has proven himself resilient and not injury prone. Any incoming striker will not have proven that yet.
The vast majority of Grant’s goals this season have been tap ins (set up by Taylor) or penalties. Shrewsbury Away - missed three one on one sitters Peterborough Away - a penalty that had about as much power as @baraettmattesvensson without Viagra. Selling such a poor player - Ajose Mk2 - for such a massive fee with only six months remaining on his contract - makes sound business sense.

I have been on the Huddersfield Examiner website, they are saying that there has been no contact with Charlton regarding Karlan Ahearne Grant.
If Grant is worth £2m with only 6 months on his contract, how much is Taylor worth? We are lucky to have him and must keep him this summer. I realise this means a takeover, for Roland will def sell him.
The Sun are also stating that the deal has been agreed. No I will not cover one of the breakfast's but I stated that I would send to a Charity of Royston's choice.
