    Just went to watch Bishop Auckland play Spennymoor town in the northern league. Spennymoor being defending champions were the better team but bishop struck with 20 minutes to go and managed to hold on with ten men, was a quality game with some great goalkeeping by bishops goalkeeper Peter Jeffries it was a real credit to the northern league that game... im not from bishop but im local, and i was supporting them on the night, it was a classic underdog win! just wondering if any of you go and watch your local teams?

    Howey mate, it was the best fun I've had in a long time! There's some parts of it that I enjoy more than the Newcastle games, banter with players and opposition fans for one! I was sure we were gonna get our heads kicked in when we stood with the spenny lot and went mental when we scored ha

    Heard Spenny were robbed, bit of a smash and grab win from Bishop by the sound of things!

    Been to Spenny a few times, decent crack and often go to Chester-le-Street's games, nice little cosy atmosphere and it has a social club that serves me so can't complain ;)

    Not 100% on names, only the main guys haha. Erm, if he's been recently called up to first team I think I know who you mean, he's small, looks about 16/17? Midfielder? If it's him he kicked a ball over the ground during half time and I helped him get it back from a cow's field haha

    My mate Darren Richardson plays for Bishop. Never go to any of their games but I know a couple of lads who do. Are you two regulars or was this just a one off?

    Also, my sister's boyfriend plays for Aycliffe so will be coming up against Bishop some time soon I imagine? Big CB called John Close.

    I'm a big Blyth Spartans fan so go and watch them quite a lot <ok>. It's always a good laugh, and while the football is often quite poor at that level, I've seen some brilliant football at Croft Park too. Some happy moments have been beating Shrewsbury 3 - 1 in the FA Cup, beating Hyde 3 - 0, drawing 0 - 0 with Boston United (despite the lack of goals, it was an incredible game) and the latest game I went to, a 3 - 3 draw with Harrogate, where most of our best players from last season ended up. It was tough losing 2 - 0 to the 'heed on my birthday this year though!

    I lived in Ferryhill a long while ago and in my youth supported the Athletic at their Darlington Road ground ( happy days). Best match I remember was against the Southern team Kingstonian in the Amateur cups. Anyone else from Ferryhill?

    Sadly not been for quite a while tho as a youngster i used to attend North Shields one week and Whitley Bay the next so still retain an interest in both. Fondly remember Shields winning the F.A. Amateur Cup in 69 and still have the programme. Whitley got to semi the same year.
    Also often watched North Shields St. Columbas in lower league stuff tho dunno what league it was. Anyone remember them?
    Nowadays as well as supporting the Toon i coach my lads team at North Shields Juniors under 11,s. (The Magpies)

    I used to drink in a pub (The Plough) opposite where the Crawley team used to train. One sunny afternoon they wandered in and asked for my mate and I to join them as they didn't have enough players for 5 a side.

    How times have changed.

    Harrogate are the Man City of the BSN, offering over the odds wages. REALLY want to finish above them this season but our slow start is a bit worrying after what I thought was a good pre-season.

    "Sorry Yanis, we don't need you."
    *all our strikers get knacked a couple of weeks later*
    <doh>

    How about Bedlington though? Morale's sky high thanks to Rich and I think that's having an effect on the pitch. 15-0 against Stokesley!!! <yikes>
