Glad she's home, that is a lot to have to deal with. Mind you it stills seems she's likely to be fit before Izzy Brown <ok>

Mate, that's a fecking disgrace, makes me feel ashamed that our country has come to this - and we can't blame anyone but ourselves for the shambles our social services or has become.

Know exactly how you feel, matey. Wife has Cerebellar Ataxia, which means she uses a 'walker' to get about for short distances - wheelchair for anything over 5 minutes. At her PIP review, she was asked to stand for 30 seconds. From that, they ascertained she could walk 200m unaided! Appeal failed, judged by a civil servant desk jockey that had never met her. This and more since the tories and their austerity stance were voted in by a gullible public. Not for the first time. Will the fools never learn?

I know its hard bud it seems as if there is no common sense applied. She is drawing a bit of pension from council and they have threatened to stop it. Its weird like they lump everyone together. Loads of people were getting away with murder and on high benefits but surely the obvious people in need can be easy assested.

Yup, the easy targets are the ones they go for. Every time. Bastarts.

I've heard they almost always decline the first appeal almost no matter the circumstances.

This is Bl--dy hard. Fight as hard as you can if you don't these idiots who make the decisions will think they made the right decision. Go to appeal if necessary not everyone loses.

Appeal 100% as I said, the decline is part of the process. Go again. The bastards.

That was always, and still is, my view. However, it's the disabled person who is on the spot, and it's not so easy for them. First of all, they're tired. Exhausted mentally & physically. They have little confidence or self worth. Being refused what is considered just by the majority makes them feel victimised, and the possibility of it being repeated does not sit well with them, to put it mildly. The trauma of the unjust rejection is matched by the distinct possibility of further rejection. And complicated as this might seem, this is just the basic, common platform that various complex complications are built on - the most common probably being mental illness, especially depression.

Most genuine disabled people need all the strength they can muster just to get by - not fight the biggest, most prolonged battles of their lives with an enemy - yes enemy - that they almost certainly will not beat.

    Here endeth the lesson! :)

And that's exactly why the first appeal is rejected. It's not right. <ok>

Well its matchday at last been a long wait. The cereal bowl stadium will be rocking this aft. Hoping to catch live ninety minutes highlights as her broadband has been updated and works great. We can and need to win this one so im going for the win.
We may be playing head tennis till we get hold of the ball. But fitness should tell in the end.

Both my parents have been through this, you just have to stick at it.Another way of looking at it though is the amount of abuse of the system is 1 cause of everyone being targeted. The amount of people who park in a disabled space, put there book in the window and then bound up the stairs or escalators into the shops is amazing.

All this is very true WJ. Everyone in this position needs a very strong partner to fight on their behalf. Of course this does not always work.
